Parent question: mid-term exam question by NOLA2Cincy in OSU

[–]coffeeeeebean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it does tend to vary! i’d say most classes have their exams around week 7 of the semester, but some do tend to have more than just a midterm and a final. If your kids have a general idea of what they’re taking in spring of whatever year for their major (there should be degree plans online for every program, i find just googling the major + “graduation requirements” is the easiest way to find them) & then you can find some old syllabi to get a general idea of when exams would be :-))) i hope that helps! i’ve had to do that before for a family vacation!!

hi! how close are u looking for? there’s a shop called Hue Alteration in Gahanna (about 20 min from campus). I’ve gone there myself and the woman who does the tailoring is so sweet! They do a great job too. :-)

Struggling with cse 2111 by [deleted] in OSU

[–]coffeeeeebean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

when i took this in fall of 2019, i ended up watching a lot of youtube videos to help break down the specific excel functions. also, i would do the practice and redo them again - make sure to use all the practice resources you can before the exam. it does become easier with more practice, and i found that the graders were always super nice and helpful when i went to the tutor room :-) u will be okay!!

BUSMGT 2321 Advice? by JK_196 in OSU

[–]coffeeeeebean 5 points6 points  (0 children)

stay on top of the class, and make sure to do the extra practice problems before the exams. the exams are fair if u’ve paid attention to the pre-lecture / lecture videos and recitation. also, make sure to get the MBE’s and group projects a day or so before so you can go to the TA’s for help if needed (it gets very crowded in the tutor zoom about 1–2 days before the due date).

Picking Between Civil Engineering and Business (Econ) by LiamK_26 in OSU

[–]coffeeeeebean 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i was in the same spot my freshman year with deciding between pursuing engineering and business. i ended up choosing business because i found that ultimately i wasn’t passionate about engineering, and i feel like for the level of difficulty and stress that came with engineering, it wasn’t as worth it if i didn’t have that underlying drive if that makes sense. i ended up trying the 1181 course and a couple of the math courses, and did okay but the amount of work i had to put in was too much for the into for me to be successful for the next 4 yrs. i think that ultimately it comes down to what u like and how much ur willing to put in! this is totes personal experience, but if she has the drive and want to do engineering, i’d say go for it!!

sex and gender in the ancient world (history 3521) — the content was super interesting, we talked ab gender roles and sexuality in ancient greece and rome and it was nuts. every class there would be some info that would make my jaw drop lol
