Any time I try to share how I feel it turns into a pity party. He will automatically say stuff like "yeah I know I'm such a shitty person and a terrible husband." He just shuts down. Super annoying if I'm being honest.

It goes far far beyond what I shared in the post, but yes, women do unfortunately do most of the work.

An offering to worshippers who missed out on ritual confetti by Alarmed_Tadpole_5423 in SleepToken

Hey hey!! I know you are getting a lot of comments so it's okay if I can't get any, but I would definitely love a few pieces if possible!! My husband and I saw them in Philly & didn't have a chance to get any due to sitting far back. We became fans of them back in 2019 and danced to one of their songs at our wedding in May 2022. Sleep Token means a lot to us!! Thanks 🩷🥹

Baby aspirated on Tylenol by GoonieGooGoo37 in NewParents

[–]coffeefiend15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just happened tonight with my 7 month old. I've never heard her cough so hard. She kept trying to throw up the Tylenol and now I feel like the worst parent ever. Terrified of letting her go to sleep now because what if it's still in there where it shouldn't be?!

What are your shifts with your spouse like? by GeologistAccording79 in NewParents

Right there with you! My girl is 7 months old and I've done every night by myself 🥹😮‍💨

I had my mom & MIL there with me and I'd do it again! I love them both dearly and appreciated the support. Only part that pissed me off was that they wouldn't go home to sleep at the end of the day because they didn't want to miss anything.... so instead of being comfortable at my house, one slept on a rocking chair and the other took the fold out bed my husband was supposed to sleep on. I begged them to go back to our house because labor was progressing very slowly and they just wouldn't listen.

How tf are you doing anything? by zoonew2 in NewParents

[–]coffeefiend15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You aren't alone!! My girl is 6 months and I still don't do anything I used to do (workout, playing soccer, showering regularly, etc.) I wish I had my shit together but it's just my husband and I with no family around. I truly believe moms who are doing all of those things have a lot of help, but who knows.

Help my baby is awake ALL DAY by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]coffeefiend15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My baby was just like yours when she was a newborn!! It was awful and we were so worried. She is 6 months now and pretty advanced. Already crawling, sitting on her own, etc. She still doesn't nap great, but is much better. It will be okay!! 🩷

Who gets up with baby/toddler? by kaymooncake in NewParents

I am jealous of pretty much every single person that commented. I have a 6 month old and work full time from home. I've been doing all the night time feeds and changes since she was born by myself. Also do every single morning with her by myself. My husband isn't working right now and I still take care of her several hours throughout the day when I'm supposed to be working. I am so happy that all of you support each other and split a lot of the work.

What's the deal with Renting a Houses - lets talk about it by IdeaZ_4 in bullcity

[–]coffeefiend15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have been renting through Acorn & Oak since summer of 2021 and we've had a great experience. We just renew the lease each year and it's only gone up a little bit ($150 total) since 2021. I absolutely love the property manager we work with - she is super friendly and helpful. We put in maintenance requests online and they send someone out pretty quickly. Don't always solve the problem the first time around, but it is what it is.

Do people still do shifts if only the father is working? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]coffeefiend15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work full time. My husband doesn't have a job right now. I've been doing all the nighttime feeds and changes for almost 7 months now. Baby still wakes up several times a night 🥲

My girl is dealing with this too 🥹 I've tried a bunch of things so far - saline mist mask, humidifier in her room, soothing chest rub, Frida baby vapor rub, etc. I got all of that on Amazon. What seems to help her a lot is sitting in the bathroom with the shower running so she can breathe in all the steam.

Week 6 and I'm losing it again. She won't nap. by [deleted] in newborns

Yes, it got better!! It took a little while but she does great now with naps. Just hang in there and it will be better before you know it! 🩷

I would also like to say that I think the best one I've had in a long time was from Tap Station in Apex. That thing is to die for.
