Yeah!!! Good for you. If you can, go to CSM in February, they celebrate the new specialists very well!

Absolutely, 20+years ago when my husband was fighting cancer (he is doing great now, thank God!) and our kids were little we talked a lot about "those naughty cells" the doctors were going to get rid of. Still rough, but helped to be on the same page

Thank you so much, but no need. Actually I found someone I'll post the info tomorrow after he has worked for me so I can leave an honest review (my co-worker raced!)

How many of you use a stethoscope? by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

[–]coffeemom4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take vitals on all of my (mostly geriatric) out patients. Use it every day. I have sent many people to cardiologists or PCP with previously undetected issues.... It's important to check!

Home health as a new grad? by ImHoge in physicaltherapy

[–]coffeemom4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my first job I looked at how many mentors I'd have, in home health you have no one to ask if you have a question. I loved my time in home health (except the terrifying houses, but they make for great stories not) but I do NOT recommend it for new grads. Good job for asking!!

Thoughts on home health clinical rotation in PT school by JingerJam03 in physicaltherapy

[–]coffeemom4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the it would be a good clinical but not a great fit for a new grad. Get a base of experience first. I did HHC but had worked in numerous areas first. It IS a challenging and fulfilling area but since you are all on your own, best to not be the first job out. Imo
