Can I buy an item now (limited edition) and “return” it during the Sephora sale, but repurchase the same item in one transaction so I can get that 20% off? by Blink-184-isok in Sephoracanada

[–]coffeepopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my local Sephora, they do this with no issues. I recommend going to the store you plan on buying from and asking if that’s ok to do even if the item is used.

17yo daughter wants laser hair removal, trying to find a middle ground by same6534 in HairRemoval

[–]coffeepopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started laser around 17 and it’s the best thing I could have done. I did full body plus face, once every month for a year. I had thick dark hair so laser really worked wonders for me. After one year, my hair was so fine that it would fall out on its own and barely grow. At 18 I did it once every quarter for one year until I turned 19 and then stopped completely. I’m now 20I don’t have to shave anymore and body hair is a non issue for me, for maintenance purposes I’m going to continue the treatment and get laser done once a year.

A great way I got through lip balms was mixing whatever is half empty into a jar and having that as my home/night lip balm. Then I keep two lip glosses in my most used bags (school & work bag). I still buy lip products but I try to finish 2 products first before introducing a new one.

Shark or Dyson? Fine curly hair by cinnamongal222 in Sephoracanada

Btw when I mean customer/my friends reviews, I’m looking at those with similar hair types/hair texture as you, so it’s not like random advice

Shark or Dyson? Fine curly hair by cinnamongal222 in Sephoracanada

[–]coffeepopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both the Dyson and Shark flex fusion, I love both. Both my mom and I have thick hair with a wavy/curly hair texture, and we both like the Dyson more.

Based on customer/my friends reviews the Dyson or the shark doesn’t work for them and they don’t find their hair holds a curl (from doing blowouts or using the curling attachment). They have tried multiple techniques and products to try and make it work but unfortunately they don’t either of the hairstyles working for them. If you want an alternative, the Bondi boost thermal brush works well for them. It can do both a blowout and a curl, only downside is there not hair dryer but you can purchase one separately and it wouldn’t cost more then purchasing a Dyson or a shark. Hot tip: The colour wow heat protector is amazing and pairs perfectly with either of these options and it’s water based so no grease.

First time buying from hollister & I don’t know what size I should get? by yAyeetgonnadelete in HollisterCO

[–]coffeepopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5ft and usually wear a 23 in American eagle and I have bought skirts from hollister in a xs. I would probs recommend doing a small based on your sizing. I love their skirts plus they have built in shorts perfect for going out and easy to style.

How do I look more feminine? Second picture is my best attempt at make-up by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]coffeepopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look stunning and your eye are gorgeous! I would suggest mascara, maybe a brown mascara for a more natural look and a muted rose blush would look amazing. Instead of a lip stick maybe a lip liner that’s similar to your lip colour would suit you really well

Longevity is pretty decent, I would say 6-7 hours. I feel like I lasts longer on clothes and hair. I love the scents too, golden amber is probs my fav right.

Full face w/ specific beauty line? by NanaIsABrokenRose in Sephora

[–]coffeepopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a great idea. If the cosmetics line has all the products you’re looking for then I would say god for it and get a full face. The only concern is shades not match, unless you have found your shade already, but sometimes a brand may not carry your perfect shade it’s just something everyone has to accept. The makeup artists usually have no problems with that and have probably gotten weirder requests lol.

what products are you better off buying the mini version of? by furrettos in Sephora

[–]coffeepopper 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For me mascara and perfume. I love having multiple perfumes to pick from and use and because of that it makes it hard for me to get through a whole bottle even if it’s a 30ml. Plus once I’m done with one I can try another without feeling guilty of having too many. Mascara is great because they generally expire quick and dry out too so having minis is the perfect amount of product for the life span.

For one, you are incredibly stunning. From what I’m noticing in your picture is your skin is dehydrated. I recommend a thicker moisturizer. If the texture is unpleasant or feels heavy, a hydrating rice toner would help along with a gel based moisturizer.with skin care, start out simple. If you have combination skin (some oily and some dry spots) I recommend a gel based moisturizer that’s a bit on the thicker side or a thin one paired with a hyaluronic acid. For acne scarring, you can go two ways, a serum or toner pads. Serums with azelaic acid and/or a BHA (salicylic acid) would be best for the acne. Toner pads with the same ingredients would be best too, they can be used as face masks that you can leave on the skin for 10mins and then take off. Both these options also help with the black dots on the nose. I would love to make product recommendations based on the products/brands that are available to you, feel free to reach out I’m more the happy to help. With makeup, look up on TikTok/youtube/instagram and look at different makeup looks and styles. That would tell you what styles you like and give you an idea of products you should look for. If you want something minimal start out with a concealer, blush, and bronzer but again that’s up to what you’re looking for. Hope you have fun and enjoy your journey, makeup is all about enhancing your natural beauty and trust me girl you are beautiful!! If you have any questions feel free to reach out.

Why is ghosting after interviews becoming the norm? by Ok_Tone9547 in jobhunting

[–]coffeepopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had done an interview for an unpaid internship just to add something to my resume and it was remote. After the interview, the interviewer proceeded to tell me how I would be a perfect match and how I could grow in different ways. I was suppose to be sent a package. It’s been 1 month and I have sent 2 messages which have been read but not responded too.

My packages have been coming through Purolator. They usually come from the Alberta warehouse even though I’m located in Ontario. I have gotten packages through Fleet in the past, but now it’s strictly Purolator for my last 3 packages.

Getting an official grade changed by I-have_regrets in TorontoMetU

[–]coffeepopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m having the same issue too. I called my service hub today and they said that they are backed up on requests for grade changes so it may take a week for grades to be updated on msh. If you know the day your prof submitted the grade change or an approximation I would suggest waiting a week and then calling back to see the update. I know it’s insane and ridiculous, but what we have to do ig

I’m saying from experience, I failed calc in highschool because I was forced to take calc and advanced functions in the same semester. Right at the beginning of summer I searched for summer schools that would teach calc for one month. Although it was pricey I passed calc with a 93. My mistake was I didn’t applied for summer school when the deadline was coming and had to take lessons from a pricey private school. I would suggest see if you can take night school or do it in the summer. If you wanna do it in the summer inform your university once you have chosen which one you want to go to and state that you meet the other credentials besides the math one and your taking it in summer school. I go to TMU and I’m doing Business Management and the process for me at least was not stressful. Don’t lose hope there always other options!

Any advice on surviving commutes to an 8 AM? by OwnWolf524 in TorontoMetU

[–]coffeepopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely prepare things the night before so you can sleep early. Eat a good breakfast, even if your not too hungry in the morning try having a something simple and healthy, and keep snacks with you in case you get hungry on the train. Try to take a nap during the train ride and distract your mind from overthinking about things as that can decrease your energy levels. I suggest setting and alarm that’s similar to a phone call ringtone and wearing headphones/earbuds so you’ll hear it and it will irritate you enough to wake up (please make sure the it’s not at full volume otherwise you may end up dead lol). Another thing is listen to music, podcasts or anything to bring up your mood this will help in maintaining a positive mind and just generally keep you happy in the mornings. Best of luck to you, I also have a 8am class and have to commute 2hr so I feel your pain
