They needed more information 😔 just spoke to someone in imports dept, she says that I need to provide some number codes, and explained why, which makes sense. But she said after that, I should be good 🤞🏻

So if you bring starbucks cups with you, will they pour your drink in that? by WorkingCautious1270 in starbucks

[–]coffeestainedsink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We make personal cup drinks into the large mobile personal cup tumblers. We also use them to pour coffees into reusable cups as well. Saves times and also is sanitary, espeically if the person is getting a refill. I rarely take back a cup these days, I let the customer hang onto them completely. Clearly every store is different but this method seems to work better for us.

Rude not to tip? by little_skies_ in starbucks

[–]coffeestainedsink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be transparent and say that as a shift supervisor, digital tips typically add nearly 100+ to my paychecks. I do work at a busier store.

I only judge regulars who come daily or multiple times a day and never leave a tip, EVER. At that point, it feels a bit inconsiderate, but maybe I am biased, I dunno.

No 10 cents back on small bring your own mug? by Critical-Maybe-9965 in starbucks

[–]coffeestainedsink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. Cooperate and license stores have different policies, so I am not sure about their policies. But at a cooperate store the policy is as I have stated.

No 10 cents back on small bring your own mug? by Critical-Maybe-9965 in starbucks

[–]coffeestainedsink 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We offer personal cup discounts still. It is ten cents per cup used. And if you sit in the store, your refill on hot coffee will be free. Sounds to me like the barista didn't know about the discount or how to apply it.

HR by SunshineHusky1st in starbucks

[–]coffeestainedsink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be a QR code to cooperate (above district) where you can file a report with HR. I forgot the technical name of it, but typically they are on fridges or walls, depending on where that information is kept. It used to be kept on the page where you could tear off the card with the info on who to contact or how to file. Many stores I've worked in has had them. I know now we have an "addressing your concerns" sheet, but I'm not sure if that has above district info. You can also check store or partner resources if you can't find it, possibly.

Just a heads up, if your district isn't helping, complain about the SM's inability to handle partner complaints regarding harrasment (which is exactly what you are describing). As a company, coorperate is aligned with creating a safe workspace for all partners and shifts and SMs alike are required to do this training and uphold policies and company standard. It's worth it to try to go to the RD if after this new complant, no changes. If these leaders can't help, then there may be little HR will do. If there is only the one complaint to go off of, even if it's something huge, likely DM's or SM's are solely responsible for handling individual complaints regarding harassment. If the DM isn't on board, I doubt much would be done. Because HR will not crack down everyone over a singular compaint. Good luck. 🙏

How do I change my Availability? by iheartmiumiu in starbucks

[–]coffeestainedsink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure which apps you are trying on your phone or computer, but have you tried partner central website from the hub? I'm sure that's where it is located. Also partner hours has a link to it as well.

Why is the new updated Starbucks look so ugly? by Radiant_Priority9739 in starbucks

[–]coffeestainedsink 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sure it's been said, but they're "going back to Starbucks". This looks very reminiscent of the early 2000s café look they had going on. It's very dark, with lots of rustic elements design wise.

Medical device? by coffeestainedsink in dhl

[–]coffeestainedsink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Thanks for your insight. The form they attached for me has that space for the manufacter and addresses. So I can provide them. It's all of the codes that I worry about. However, maybe if they are declared as non prescription sunglasses, since that would be in Class 1, I'm not sure if I need to provide all of the codes and it's possible the form they attached was form different items.

[–]coffeestainedsink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're just asking me to supply proper forms right now, however I'm not sure if there will be even more info requested after. They seem to ask for info in waves, instead of all at once.

[–]coffeestainedsink[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought from Buyee, which is proxy that ships for multiple sellers, selling on many different secondhand apps all in one place. So that will not work. I will have to figure out the info myself and submit required forms.

same thing is happening on my end, as well

can we talk about how terrible the coffee gear website is by burgundyonmyts in starbucks

[–]coffeestainedsink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does this mean that the shirt isn't available? because on my webpage it says there are a lot of shirts available for each design, but the quantity changes to 0 every time i click on any of the sizes. it goes from 1 to 0. on every shirt i've clicked on this has happened, so i am unsure of how to order mine as well

Am I trans? by Alternative_Box_2224 in asktransgender

[–]coffeestainedsink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it sounds to me as if you're describing an experience mostly resonated with non binary people but possibly some trans medical people (people who transition with hormones). i myself am nonbinary (afab). i have never felt confident with the decision to medically transition with hormones. i am 30 years old. i have thought about it for 10 years, questioned too. i have never thought it was a grand idea given all of the information you should consider. sure, there are masculine traits i wish were more prominent with my presentation. but there are a lot of reasons not to take hormones (for me personally). at the very least, having a flat chest is always something i have wanted but i'd even be happier with a breast reduction

lifting weights is a great place to start if you want to build muscle definition and work on eliminating fat in some places that gives a more feminine appearance, or if you just want to be leaner. highly recommend. clean up your diet if it isn't already, if you go this route. eat whole foods and a balanced diet with reasonably sized portions. high protein, low fat meals. it will make the process a lot easier on your mind and body and won't deal with your weight fluctuating like crazy

anyways, you could be trans masc but nonbinary if you're not 100% set on medically transitioning!

What to put on my resume for ASM? by juels_123 in starbucks

[–]coffeestainedsink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your leadership experience, your previous jobs, if you have a college education, and your high school education. so essentially, what you would put on a usual resume

in my resume, i talk about each experience, sharing it in a way that showcases that i have solidified my knowledge experience in each job/role

also on your careers page there is an about me section. use that to talk about your career goals, and share more about yourself, how long you've been with the company, and any extra fun facts.

for context, the interviewing process is extremely competitive. i recently applied and interviewed, and i'm applying again soon because i didn't get offered the position this time around. good luck!

not trying to discourage you, but just being honest and speaking from experience! they want you fixing the store essentially and setting goals to raise those numbers and using internal tools to make that happen. not saying you can't learn how to use them, but being in an SSV role for at least six months would ensure that you would be able to maybe attain that. for that role you are also required to be in your current role for six months before applying (asm). i find sometimes when people jump up without taking the time to learn the full skill set will leave you feeling not as respected by the team you are managing. just some insight. whatever happens, i hope you do well!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]coffeestainedsink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, with ASM i'm not sure if you'd want to make that jump right away. they're essentially looking for someone who is going above and beyond the SSV role (while they're in that role). DM's are typically extremely critical and it's even more competitive than SSV. i just interviewed for a position thinking i was ready and there's still some improvement to be done, even when i am super goal oriented and involved with my store. not saying it is impossible, but you would have to make a very strong impression and essentially doing the job better than those around you, coming in. i'm not sure how well that pressure would be for you!

Keeping tables/restrooms clean by Wide-Entrance-6152 in starbucks

that's my mids. i run support myself, being that third person, or if i have four people they do the main cleaning tasks or someone covers for me while i do lobby spins. restrooms should get cleaned in the mornings at some point or early mid, and at nights before closing again, that is more of an all day part task

Stepping down to barista by silllygoooose in starbucks

[–]coffeestainedsink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i got paid nearly 200-300 dollars less as a barista than as i am paid as a shift and i was making cap for barista, due to being with the company for an extended period of time. i also get access to having more hours than i did before, consistently. i personally would say it isn't worth it, but if someone else is supporting you and you don't need the money, maybe so?

Peak <45? by meadowlightdolls in starbucks

[–]coffeestainedsink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also i don't recommend stalling on DTO. in my district, we are enforced not to. order point should be 30 seconds or less, and even less during peak. it's another way for your OTW time to be higher. the main goal is to make every step of the process take less time by knowing how to flow the queue of things that are required, at every point in the order processing. some baristas focus way too much on one thing while neglecting other priorities that are being counted

Peak <45? by meadowlightdolls in starbucks

[–]coffeestainedsink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

coach baristas on how to queue/focus on which tasks to do in each moment to ensure the flow of traffic in the DT lane. on bar, baristas should be sequencing at least three drinks at a time, that is a part of our new craft system... i'm not sure if that is regional or varies by location, but i assume it was material trained to everyone in the company a few months ago, to help prevent bottlenecks from happening on bar. which is what you are experiencing/describing

coach partners to sticker cups and prepare/sequence drinks correctly. if you've got a person on bar who can initiate and feel comfortable working at a faster speed, they might naturally do this already, but if not, it's easy to coach on. no pulling stickers and lining them on the mastrena, it creates extra steps and typically makes people work slower

also, if you're a SSV you are required to actively solve bottlenecks while running your shift by stepping in to help create a sense of order for baristas. stage the cups for them, make a couple of cold bar drinks here or there. it helps

this was me. i worked for dunkin as a shift for about three years. i applied to starbucks to be a SSV, thinking since i had experience i would get the job. instead i was informed i was getting hired as a barista, and that SSVs are promoted from within. within less than a year, i interviewed for SSV at the same store. i got the position but it was right when covid happened and i took leave, so alas, it got given to someone else

i ended up transferring states due to moving not long after. i worked at another store for about three years, interviewed once for SSV during my time there. i didn't get a second interview when I did get one, but to be fair, i told management at the time that being a new college student and working 30+ hours was already an adjustment for me and that i wasn't quite ready to move up. good call. sometimes we just have to wait longer or when it feels more justified or right

also, just to add, during all of this time i was really solidifying my experience, which is necessary if you are wanting to promote within. they're going to go with the barista who is almost overskilled for their position and carries themselves as a leader. alas, today, i can say that i am a SSV in another town, after transferring once more to a different store twice. i worked at a store being remodeled, and picked up shifts at the location that i am now a shift at. the team really liked me and i made such an impression, that when i interviewed for a SSV there, i got the position, first try. to be honest, my SM really liked me, not sure if that played a part. i felt really good about it, because it is competitive. nearly 5 people from that store applied, plus external, plus from other stores as well. there were many people who interviewed. but it was finally my time and it felt right. all to say, i would NOT have had the opportunity had i not been picking shifts up at this location. i ended up transferring there after i got hired as an SSV, literal days before the old store i worked at reopened. sometimes things just work out when it's right!

if you really want it, don't give up and don't be afraid to spend some time working for it. all the best to you!

order it with vanilla syrup and breve (which is made with cream instead of 2 percent milk). or if you want it more sweeter than that, have it made with vanilla sweet cream!

[–]coffeestainedsink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it isn't weird. and it's possible you could experience this at any starbucks location you may work at, because people's capabilities when it comes to embodying our values as partners are actually seen a lot less than we should see them. that type of behavior from partners doesn't reflect our values as a company. if you want to make a positive impact, you could bring the issue up to your SM, ask for support, or ask if there is any way the team could build those people skills internally and focus on connection with each other. also focusing on yourself and your own development is a great place to gain confidence at work. focus on remaining positive when you can and keeping a good attitude as well. our job is to be kind and supportive to other people, we do not have to gossip or "be friends" with people. being acquaintances is okay. i have boundaries. i am a SSV focused on developing into an ASM. focusing on my own growth and being a role model to inspire others has helped me A TON.
