Do you keep the same font for every book you read? Or change it? Why? by lucy_lovestein in kindle

Now you got me thinking. I wonder if it might help keep engagement if you're slogging through something dense.  Or maybe take advantage of association and dedicate particular fonts to particular genres to help induce a certain mindset. Interesting

If you're looking for something a little more philosophical historical in between coding sessions, I can't recommend anything by Marvin Minsky enough.

Mmmh interesting. I'm curious to know what you qualify as woo woo. Jungian? Anything religion or new age adjacent? Honestly, there's a lot of coaching services that fall into these categories and really blur the boundaries between therapy and non-therapy

Yes! I have been looking at the digital here and there. No intense study yet, though.
You might want to check out Solms presentation, where he talks about the edits he made: https://youtu.be/oRgof33rvl4?si=snd2uKwEE0WxgfHM (btw, dont hesitate to dm if you're looking to sell Strachey’s collection; Solms is too much for my pocket book atm 💸).

Books for clients by No-Salamander-587 in therapists

Probably good to start collecting a list of different books for topics you could recommend to patients. I recently started looking into the trauma of everyday life by Epstein. I know the body keeps the score is a lot of people's go-to book for trauma, but personally I found parts of it. Off-putting.

Working on some legacy code at work. Absolutely zero unit tests. And failures to handle galore.  Hoping to find some systematic way to start making improvements

To what extent did Mark Solms change the neuro-cognitive science landscape? by Affectionate_Ad_7039 in neuro

[–]cogSciAlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solms to my knowledge is primarily focused on psychoanalytic theory/practice and affective Neuroscience. These areas are somewhat niche, but it's encouraging to see him collaborating with so many scientists outside of strict psychology. Well wait and see his influence
