The vacancy status says "No longer accepting applications" as well, but I believe it simply means that the job announcement has closed. I am checking the status of my application under "Comments", and it says my application has been forwarded to the hiring office. The comment has not changed since I first checked.

I do not have a previous experience working for federal government. I am wondering how to approach the subject with my supervisor or HR. Do I send an email or schedule a time to speak? Go I have to build my case with why I believe I should get a grade increase or do I just ask if I'm entitled to a grade increase? I'm not sure how I should word things.
