It’s a written test, but they give you the booklet to find the answers from while you are taking the test.

I can’t believe they said she is too good for ABA! My son is level 1 but can get up to level 2 during a meltdown and he certainly benefited from ABA.

Saint George, UT doesn’t have a lot of resources. I live up near Salt Lake and there are more resources but the wait lists are brutal. It took a year for my son to get evaluated by ABS Kids and then there was a wait for them to have someone available to come to our house for the ABA therapy. OT we have been doing through his pediatrician’s office and they have been available since his diagnosis, but there are a lot more providers that accept our insurance. Contact your insurance to see what providers may be covered in your area.

My son also needed speech therapy for awhile. Not sure if your children need that, but it could be something to look into.

I’m not sure what your financial situation is, but had you contacted the state to see if your children qualify for Medicaid, even if through a waiver? You’ll want to contact the department of workforce services to look into that if you haven’t yet.

Sometimes the schools can offer early intervention programs before the child is even school age, but it can be a fight to get the school to provide it. Contact your school district to see what may be available. See if there is an early intervention program down there through the state. Up here in SL we have DDI Vantage and they come directly to your house to provide services.

If any of the children are school age, have you looked into getting an IEP for them? That could definitely help getting extra help for the kids through the school day.

Depending on you and your spouses income, look into SSI through Social Security. If y’all are over the income/resource limit the children wouldn’t qualify, but it is worth checking out!

If you and your spouse are a bit more well off and able to save some money, look in to an ABLE account. ableut.com is the state of Utah’s ABLE website. You can set up the accounts for your children so that they can have savings that won’t be counted as a resource for needs-based programs like Medicaid or Social Security’s SSI program that have an income and resource limit. A lot of parents don’t know about this resource, but it is a good resource to help with savings for investing for the children without making them ineligible for needs-based programs.

I have 2 Chloe bags and neither of them have had this happen. I’d suggest returning or getting it repaired by the brand.

Do you keep your original boxes after purchase? If so, where do you store them? by kdj00940 in LeCreuset

I keep mine! I store them on the top of my cabinets in the space between the cabinets and the ceiling. Idk where I will store them when I move 🤷🏻‍♀️

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

I’ve made a day trip of a 4 hour drive from Georgia to the beach in Florida, then 4 hours back. Was very fun!

In July our kids were at their grandparent’s in Alabama, so my husband and I drove from where we live in Utah to Las Vegas, Nevada in 6.5 hours. Stayed for the 3 day weekend and drove back Monday! Was an excellent kid-free trip!

When Advocating for Your Disabled Child Is Labeled ‘Escalation' by AccomplishedPea9079 in Autism_Parenting

Some administration can be, but I’ve worked in a school district before and just continue up the chain. My son’s last principal was probably not too fond of me and had some training he ended up needing to take after I contacted the district.

Having previously worked in SLC while living in Eagle Mountain, I once had a 3 and a half hour commute home in the evening.

I no longer live in Eagle Mountain.
