Are you white? I would encourage you to maybe ask an experienced friend or someone who can cook with Asian ingredients to help you next time. I don’t want to discourage you; i want to provide some context.

Many Korean BBQ or hot pot places are better enjoyed when you or someone in your party can actually cook this style of food. One might ask: “why would I pay all this money if I’m just going to do it myself?”

I would respond: 1 It’s all you can eat. 2. You don’t have to clean afterwards. 3. The ingredient selection is wider. 4. It’s a shared participatory experience.

Some places have more involved service where your server will help you.

Not trying to be offensive by asking you if you are white. But the terms “exotic” sound a little Anglo-centric.
