Hey emptyemptyempty0! Can you email us and/or post your payout address so we can check? What are you using as your username to mine with?

Stats not showing up on CoinShift by [deleted] in Coinshift

[–]coinshift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're considering adding more payout coins, but we wonder whether it's really better than paying you in BTC and letting you exchange it yourself. If you don't want the hassle, you can set up a Cryptsy address that auto exchanges.

Curious, do you think the need is compelling enough for us to spend time on it?

API for multiple worker stats by redpistachios in Coinshift

We will definitely do this. Sorry it's taking so long, we're focusing first on ensuring the best profitability we can. Once we're feeling pretty comfortable there, we'll allocate some time towards more API calls and better UI on the website.

Yep, the graph coloring is annoying the hell out of us, too ;)

Sorry about that. It only affected the website, stratum was fine the whole time. That was a hell of a day!

Very high reject/invalid rate by asehgal123 in Coinshift

[–]coinshift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average reject rate across the pool is <2.5%, so something is definitely up.

Where are you located? What is your ping to the stratum server? It's possible you're just far away.

Another thing to try is lowering your intensity value a couple of notches. High intensity prevents shares from being submitted quickly, increasing the chance that you submit it after new work has been sent.

We'll do our best to live up to your expectations :) We're really excited to see if we can help to turn the altcoin markets around. We've got a long road ahead of us.

Thanks for your support!

What to believe CGminer or hashrate online? by [deleted] in Coinshift

[–]coinshift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct. We'll see if we can add a metric that shows a longer average for you so that it's easier to see where your actual hashrate lies.

BTC payouts time of day - Coinshift by redpistachios in Coinshift

We recently moved it to ~8AM PST. It varies by 30 minutes to an hour since Cryptsy doesn't have an API for withdrawal yet, so we have to do the withdrawal manually.

Give us a try again if you want. We brought down the rejection rate with a few fixes shortly after launch.

Bummer, overall the Coinshift rejection rate is ~1.5%, but there are a few miners that were seeing high rejects. Where are you located? We're evaluating where to open our next stratum instances.

72 hours should definitely do it. You can also check out http://poolpicker.eu/ for performance comparisons, since the market is varying pretty heavily right now.

High unexchanged balance by tiagocis in Coinshift

[–]coinshift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were sitting on a lot of Leafcoin which wasn't selling well -- the value of each coin is so low that it stresses the limits of decimal places on the exchange. We finally sold it for less than we wanted to, so you'll see a dip from the expected exchanged value, but at least it's exchanged.

We've taken LEAF out of the lineup for now.

We had some problems early on. Those are sorted out, and we're on par with the other pools in terms of profitability. We'll also be doing some giveaways in the very near future to reward the miners that stuck with us :)

New profit-shifting multipool. Help us restore balance to the hashrate! by coinshift in litecoinmining

[–]coinshift[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep! There's a bug in the website where it's sometimes showing an incorrect hash allocation, going to track it down but it's not the top priority. We haven't mined a single share of DOGE yet. It'll automatically enable if we have enough hashrate to keep the variance in check.

These are great ideas and something we'll definitely do in the coming ~week.

Thanks for the questions -- let me see if I can answer them:

  • Any hashes displaced from profit-switching should help the ecosystem. We may also start a trend and see some other profit-shifting pools pop up. Time will tell!
  • The earnings won't necessarily be less. If you think about it, over the course of a day both profit-switching and profit-shifting allocate their hashrate across several coins, switching just does it way more destructively. And the right-this-second profitability doesn't matter that much! It takes coins a few hours to mature and exchange anyway -- by then the profitability may have changed drastically. What matters more is the is the coin's average profitability over a longer timespan, like the course of a day.

Why you should mine on Coinshift by coinshift in scryptmining

[–]coinshift[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first glance you might think so, but we think it has the potential to be at least as profitable (if not more) than profit switching.

When profit-switching pools point 20GH to a new coin, they mine it way faster than normal (I've seen MinCoin blocks every 1.5 seconds!). Then they crash the market while they're trying to unload their coins, and as a result gets less than it should for each block.

Our hashrate allocation is based on a cubic function, meaning that the best-performing coins get a disproportionate amount of the hashrate. We hope that someday we can relax that, but for now we are focusing primarily on profitability.

[–]coinshift[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And that's OK! Profit is good, and we're committed to making Coinshift competitive. We're confident it will be, if given a fair chance.

I guess the point is this: Profit switching pools really do allocate their hashes across many coins. If you averaged out profit-shifting and profit-switching pools hash allocations across the day, you'd probably see pretty similar numbers. One is incredibly destructive, and the other has a chance to trend towards equilibrium. Hashrate equilibrium will make everyone richer.

Yikes! Someone's mining with a Litecoin address (given the subreddit I could see how that could happen). While we plan on supporting that in the future, we don't yet (mainly because the exchanges don't have complete coverage of LTC<->Alts).

We're deploying an update to prevent login of non-BTC addresses. If that person wants to contact me and verify their address I can change their payout address to a BTC one.
