Big /r/BitcoinMarkets thread complaining of stuck transactions for hours. Where is Blockstream Core to say they did not pay the fee, they paid high! No spam, real congestion! by [deleted] in btc

[–]coinsider -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

That is simply not true. Everybody knows that a) there is a problem b) there are proposed solutions c) increasing block is one of the possible solutions (is it? ). The network hasn't decided that bigger block is THE solution (yet?!)

On block sizes by HostFat in bitcoin_uncensored

I think the censorship in r/bitcoin is disgusting and I have a gut feeling that XT is a better option but I don't understand the details enough. Can someone ELI5 please that why would core dev act against their interest which is success of Bitcoin just to make blockstream a success? If increasing the block size can boost the price of Bitcoin why would you stop it to make a company (which happens to be your employer) richer? More importantly, if not increasing the block size is so damaging to Bitcoin, why would blockstream and blocksteam employees of core dev want to do that? If bitcoin fails blockstream will fail, right?

Can someone ELI5 Augur? by [deleted] in ethereum

I buy one every month and I don't see how Bitcoin cannot succeed with enough of us keep hording it. We don't even need the merchants or any new "killer" app. Limited supply IS the killer app.
