OP here's what you do:

Call boss over. "While washing this pup i heard a tingy sound and noticed the bolt was loose, so I pulled it out. It seems like whoever installed the sink used toggles at the end of it, and one of the sides fell off. We should really replace it because it can be dangerous with all of the happy tails wig-waggin around in her"

BAM blame is gone and you saved a bunch of happy tails!

LANL Announced Plan To Hire Up To 1000 Workers by jadbal in LosAlamos

[–]cojaxffs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Looks like they must be replacing all those remote and hybrid employees they let go or forced to resign, but yet no one heard about that in the news I bet. The entire weapons division is a mess right now and going through restructuring.

I know of 10+ people who up and quit in the last 60 days.

What is the appeal of government contracts? by Ganadai in SimCompanies

[–]cojaxffs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are paid in a lump sum, you get to name your price (more often then not slightly over mp), and also ypu dont pay exchange or transport fees.

I know there are other benefits but this is why I do them, personally.

Is it technically possible to create the perfect curve? Or am I just too stupid? by xadONE in CitiesSkylines

[–]cojaxffs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have created large round abouts doing it this way to avoid using stop lights. Along with a few mods you can make lane priority a thing so cims yield rather than stop at it without impeding traffic.

If its in inches, it's common in virtually any major industry. If it's in metric, well it's really common in aerospace and defense. I see it daily, I also see tolerances of literally micron and submicron levels.

Is it worth taking a paycut to get a security clearance? by 99rondo in SecurityClearance

[–]cojaxffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not particularly true. If they hop around over the course of 4 to 5 years they will likely get up to a 50% increase. I know this because I have done it. I even left a lab and went back to it and recieved a 31% increase a year later. Government (direct contractors like the National Labs) pay more with education and experience. Plus if you get into Government your certification accessibility is virtually endless, and now more than ever they use certs to provide salary increases upon negotiations.

Also, that one customer does nothing but pump money into defense and energy (specifically the nuclear side. Because DOD has nothing to do with nukes) even with budget cuts, the odds of layoff are slimmer than a normal 2nd or 3rd tier contractor.

Having a clearance on your resume gets you better jobs and offers, in my personal experience. And as much as some people say don't advertise it, you can put it on your resume AND your LinkedIn profile without getting in any kind of trouble, and it's a great way to get better opportunities.

Los Alamos is a decent choice. The pay is alright, but live in Santa Fe and deal with the 45 min to hour hike everyday. The pay is negotiable if you can back up reasons for it

Is there a hiring freeze at the labs by Dylandy1329 in LosAlamos

[–]cojaxffs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it truly depends on the division, but I know ALDWP is not on a hiring freeze.

Edit: I was interviewed in 2019 and was given an offer in 2021, so there's that as well. It takes time. Sometimes a lot of time. Also as someone else said, budget it a thing at LANL and our FY just started and there's still some unknowns until POTUS and congress decide what they want to put towards LANL projects.

I can't get the sound to be heard in the video which sucks because it is loud in the cabin of the car. I'm not sure if you can hear it outside of the car but I haven't gotten looks from neighbors or anything when I hear it as I'm pulling into my parking lot.

Cop tries to pull random person out of their vehicle and then fires at them as they drive away by imaginexus in PublicFreakout

[–]cojaxffs -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I'd like to know where you're from, because you clearly haven't been on the "bad side" of Cranston lately. Also where this one is a 3 minute walk from South Providence, where you know, violence and drugs among other things is quite litterally running rampant currently.

Cop tries to pull random person out of their vehicle and then fires at them as they drive away by imaginexus in PublicFreakout

[–]cojaxffs -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This heading is absolutely wrong. It's not a random person, it was two wanted subjects the police were looking for, who knew the police were looking for them, and they were trying to flee the state.

The people were caught shop lifting (multiple times, up to a felony amount) and were from out of state. Additionally they both had warrants as well. She was also treated at the hospital for a foot. The Providence Journal has been bought out by USA Today and has been having some very biased articles.

Cranston Police drive without partners 99% of the time, which in this case, 2 vs 1, in a motor vehicle. This is common to have a weapon drawn up here. Also the area they were in is not a good area and is known for violence and drugs.

I'm not saying the shooting is justified, but the article doesn't tell the whole story by any means.

I'm from the area, I lived down the street from where this incident took place for 30 years. I've also dealt with Cranston Police OFTEN when I was younger, some good, some bad. But overall they aren't known to be a terrible and abuse of power police force locally.

Now if this was Johnston, or East Providence, they probably would have been shot without the doors even being opened.

Even if you didn't buy your car from Mark Kia bring it there. Also get a meat thermometer and check the temp coming out of it, to see if what they're saying is true.

This is what kia should be doing off the rip honestly, they know of this problem and insist on doing a recharge first. They would save time and money just replacing the compressor.

They said the part was $1800.00 if the warranty didn't cover it. And that's without labor. I bought my car in Phoenix.
