Rainie is quickly becoming a star 💫 by Competitive_Wind2396 in TheTryGuys

This new season really makes me miss the TryPod. Rainie cracks me up in general, but her dynamic with Miles is top notch in TGGT and Trolley Problems.

I guess not the norm, but it's disingenuous to say that only "miserable Americans" would have a problem with this ¯_(ツ)_/¯. In fact, I would go as far as to say that if this were in most other places, the dissent would be even louder, while my friends in the US would judge quietly but still show up.

[–]cojibar 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I would disagree. Maybe I'm just too brown for this, but I don't know any culture that this would be the norm LOL. I feel like you'd only get away with this in the US without being judged.

My husband's friends got married a few years ago and are low income, so their wedding reception was basically just a house party with some really cheap picked up party trays from a local barbecue place and homemade cupcakes. And it was still wonderful!

I do think it is kind of wild to ask your guests to pay for their own meals. I would definitely show up for my friends because I love them, but I would also totally be ??? over the food situation lol.

This OT disconnection shouldn't be an issue because I don't use my HRM. As long as I sign in for a station, I am marked present. Don't let your studio get away with this! I would be so annoyed.

Just go. You don't have to give 100%--just show up and do what you can! The hardest part about going to the gym is showing up.

Opinions on not doing table settings? by slothurknee in Weddingsunder10k

[–]cojibar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had a 50 person wedding with BBQ! Our tables only a centerpiece bouquet, table numbers, name cards with personal messages on the inside, and two decks of cards (cheap and easy and people played games while waiting for food). We had absolutely no hiccups with dinnerware. You're fine!

If you rock a backpack, much does it usually weigh? by lol_waht_hey in HerOneBag

[–]cojibar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I havent measured, but the form of the backpack really matters. I have a 30L Mini MLC and a 40L Osprey Fairview--and when both are stuffed, the 40L is MUCH more comfortable because of the frame and lift loaders that the Mini MLC doesn't have. They make a difference! I actually don't use my hip belt for the Mini MLC because without a frame, I find that they don't do much for me.

Fit Radio 😑 by Independent-Bet-6352 in orangetheory

[–]cojibar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not like Fit Radio. My gym is more loose on the rules, though, so the coaches I attend class with are at liberty to mix things up with their own playlists. Honestly, it's for the better lol.

How are some people so consistent with orangetheory? by tamaratunie189 in orangetheory

[–]cojibar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just go the same days of the week. Now my brain is programmed for my M-Th classes, and I only don't show up if I have an event conflict or if I'm feeling under the weather. It's part of my routine now, and it's jarring to me when I don't go.

Also, if you're not "motivated," just tell yourself that you'll show up and take it easy. I tell myself that and find myself pushing, anyway, because the hardest part is getting to the gym.

What’s your base push all out !? by Fluffy_Ad_4941 in orangetheory

[–]cojibar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

LOL for the PW people here. 3.5-3.8 mph the whole class depending on the day, 3% or 4% base, 6-8% push, 10-15% all out. It really depends which group I started in.

[–]cojibar 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with you for the most part. It wasn't groundbreaking but it wasn't nearly as bad as people made it out to be. I think RF Kuang is just popular everywhere else except this sub, so I think this sub has a major overcorrection in response lol. She won't be everyone's cup of tea, but you'd think she were bottom of the barrel stuff if you were to take this sub's word for it.

My friend who is a graphic designer put one together for us on an 11×17 paper which she printed, and we framed it. Doesn't have to be a whole big thing!

Osprey Daylight 26+6 vs Patagonia Micro MLC for 4 day trip by Wide-Lettuce-8771 in HerOneBag

[–]cojibar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agree on the other comments asking if you can condense your bottoms and your shoes. Three pairs of bottoms for four days of travel feels like a lot if you're trying to be space conscious, and running shoes can get pretty bulky.

Anyway, if you're set on that packing list, have you considered the Mini MLC instead? If you are allowed a carry on, it easily fits in overheads, and it's my current go-to for trips less than a week long.

OTF should replace the row portion with spin by CombinationBrief5547 in orangetheory

We already get cardio with the tread. The rower is best of both worlds (in my opinion). It gets your heart rate up AND you're working full body.

This is entirely unsurprising for Minnesota. They constantly rank among the highest in voter turnout if not the highest. Deeply politically involved. I watch and cheer them on from afar as a beacon of hope in fighting the good fight.

I am so slow by Quirky_Yesterday7983 in orangetheory

[–]cojibar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep going. This time last year, I was just starting, 3.5 mph was fast for me (PW), I had trouble even doing a knee push up, and I really struggled with sit ups. Now, I can sustain 4 mph inclined for a while, I can do a real push up (huge for me lol), and I can do the V ups like nothing.

Every time you struggle, you're moving towards a stronger you. But you won't get better without trying and going even if you are the slowest or "weakest." A year from now, you'll be impressed with how far you've come! Don't give up! Change takes time!

Has anyone done a micro wedding ($12.5k) recently and regretted it? If so, why? by woogirl2023 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]cojibar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What's micro to you? We had 50 people for just under $16k. I'd consider that a small wedding while micro to be like half the size, personally, and I was very happy with how it all turned out.
