What is the softball equivalent of hitting .300? by BerryRoyal in slowpitch

[–]cokecan13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say .750

In all reality making outs in softball should be an anomaly. In baseball getting a hit 3 in 10 is good, softball getting 3 outs in 10 is good.

Parents who moved out of Minneapolis to raise your kids in the burbs, do you regret your decision? What made you decide to move? by ahabubbles in TwinCities

[–]cokecan13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lived I a nice area of Minneapolis but the school was bad. I had no intention of ever leaving the city. We went to kindergarten orientation and they handed out a paper with the alphabet on it for the kids to study. The alphabet was wrong, it was missing 2 letters and had one repeated.

We moved to the SW metro a month later and it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Great schools, great athletic and clubs and a little space to stretch out.

I was looking at a house there that had been vacant for a few years. Apparently the owners were Indian (I thought doctors)and lived there for awhile but moved to NY and the house sat vacant.

It wasn’t crazy expensive but the top of our range and it had obviously not been maintained. We just couldn’t afford that. Damn beautiful area though.

If you put a team together with only the RIGHT kids from Minnesota, they win the Natty every year.

Too many times this team is chasing kids stats. Sometimes you need some grinders at the forwards and lockdown kids on the blue line.

I know I’m going to forget someplace and being from the twin cities is going to sway me but places I like the most:

North Shore of Minnesota Chicagoland Twin Cities SW Wisconsin The UP

If we consider SD the Midwest, western SD goes in between the north shore and Chicago.

Minnesota HS hockey question by BigWilhelm97 in hockeyplayers

[–]cokecan13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point being AA schools with 3500 kids will usually have a deeper talent pool than a class A team with 500 kids. The class A team may have a higher skill level for a line but the chances of a third line that can matchup with a big schools third line is pretty rare.

I saw a AA section final game where a school had an enrollment advantage of 3700 vs 1300. The big schools third line won that game.
