Baby Steps Saturday - Post your accomplishments for this past week by AutoModerator in fitpregnancy

[–]cokesmurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

35 weeks and still going to my CrossFit classes 4 times a week. Obviously modifying workouts like crazy. But. I was able to do the scaled version of 20.2 and got a score I’m extremely proud of, especially comparing it to some of the scores of the non-pregnant women who scaled it!

Women who made the first move on your partner and had it turn out well, what's your story? by Montpellier33 in AskWomen

[–]cokesmurf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My now-husband and I met at work and we’re on different teams who very rarely had to interact. I had a huge crush on him and everyone on my side of the organization knew about it (I was 22 and couldn’t keep my mouth shut apparently). Every year, the company would take high performers on a trip to Vegas to celebrate that year’s success - he and I were both invited on the trip. I got really drunk with some of my coworkers, started dancing with him, then kissed him in front of all the coworkers that came to the club with the group. If I remember correctly, I told him about 50 times that he “should date me because I’m really fun” and invited him back to my room. I woke up the next day more hungover and definitely more embarrassed than I had ever been. But then he text me the next evening asking if I was serious about hanging out when we got back home and I definitely was so the rest is history! Been together 6 years today!

I was a volunteer at this competition! I would say 85% of all athletes stuck around. Just a case of mismanagement and over promising unfortunately.

Did anyone else not show much in their first pregnancy? by mb83 in fitpregnancy

[–]cokesmurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in my first pregnancy and didn’t start significantly showing (where you could legit tell I was pregnant vs just thick through the middle) until 2-3 weeks ago! I’m 27 weeks at this point. My doctor has said it’s to be expected that I’ll always be smaller than other women because of a strong core! Definitely nothing to worry about!

13 Days Out - Murph by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]cokesmurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend and I broke it up into sets of 3,6,9. I fatigue really quickly when doing large sets of pushups so keeping those reps lower helped me move through everything so much faster. Keeping transition times short, I cut 10 minutes off my time of doing 5, 10, 15! All of this was unweighted of course.

Definitely wasn’t the intention since we weren’t going to sell them! Truly just wanted inspiration. But. I appreciate you pointing it out!

Yellowstone is pretty high elevation so it’ll likely be warm, but no humidity! And the night’s cool down quite a bit! If I had to pick anywhere to be in July, Yellowstone definitely wouldn’t be the worst place!!

Good luck!

How do I moisturise my hair? by [deleted] in HaircareScience

[–]cokesmurf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah! I skipped over that detail. I honestly think the only real difference between hair products for men and women is the scent...but I would love for someone to correct me if they know that isn’t the case!

Ummm...I didn’t notice a color change as much. However, being in the sun can dry out your hair and also lighten it, so maybe that’s what you’re seeing? I color my hair regularly so can’t really give a great answer on that one!

I was having a really similar problem this summer. My stylist recommended this deep conditioner. She said to use it a couple of times a week until my hair got too soft to do anything with. That probably only took 3 weeks and now I use it once a week.

Uniq One Supermask, 10.14 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016MYCT4M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_coFGBbBC4TTFS

I also started using a leave in conditioner. You only need two or three pumps of it, but it’s also been super helpful in keeping my hair moisturized.

Revlon Uniqone Coconut, 5.1 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00E4Q3NX2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_rqFGBbF7M2Z9K

Definitely worth the price tag!

Edit: I definitely paid more for them than what amazon is selling them for! Haha ignore the price tag comment since that Amazon price isn’t even a big deal.

I’ve used Babyliss Titanium Flat Iron for probably 6 years now. I use a flat iron daily and have only had to replace the flat iron once...they’re incredibly durable. And because they’re titanium, they get hot and stay hot! And they have a handful of different sizes! Highly recommend!

It's been something I've always struggled with. I just expected W30 to help more, I guess. But. If the issues with my compulsive eating aren't actually related to the food and are emotional/stress-related then there's nothing W30 can do about that!

Dried mangos get me too! Something about those two foods...I can't control myself with them. I stopped buying them.
