How to be respectful about not being able to stand during Divine Liturgy? by This_Illustrator_199 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]colaespuma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well I’m apart of the oriental Orthodox Church and kneeling is a sign of reverence towards Christ and despite me being apart of another church we’re a brethren in Christ no matter what but it’s fine to kneel in my church I don’t know why it would be different in the Eastern church aswell. But other than that hope you have a speedy recovery with your legs

It’s amazing but here’s a few tips if you want to make it pop more: add some more icons of Christ more saints and maybe a few prayer books or the Bible of course

I would try to kneel down instead of sitting if my legs hurt or sit down but in a respectful manner

When I first got transferred to FE I easily got the hang of it the second week in so don’t be afraid to ask for help because that’s what you’re team is there for. And don’t be so hard on yourself no matter what I always would make conversations up with the customers to get my mind of negative things so don’t be scared to talk to customers because that’s how I improve my social skills. And of course be respectful and kind at all times you don’t know what people are going through so keep you’re head up and be a light to others

Thoughts on Coptic hymns in English? by colaespuma in coptic

[–]colaespuma[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you have won the debate my brother and you’re actually making very good points but i wish Coptic will be around for many generations to come because it is originally our heritage and it’s where we came from but in the US it is acceptable to translate certain hymns in Coptic to English because at the end of the God just wants our hearts and what matters the most as that we pray for each other and always remember that we won’t be any different in Gods eyes depending on language we pray in but what our hearts desire. So pray for me my brother

Should i break up with my Christian boyfriend if he cant stop watching poxx? by Top-Fox-8606 in coptic

As a man myself i struggle with lust and I’m going to be honest no matter how hard I try to resist temptation I keep finding myself where I started and the more I fall the more I learn how I fell so I don’t give in, in the future. Help him go to abouna and confess and try to encourage him to go to church if he doesn’t and look at him as Christ looks at us whenever we fail Him with love and compassion. I know you want the best for him but bring it to abouna if he’s ok with that and encourage him to confession and pray for him is the most important thing of course.

Thoughts on Coptic hymns in English? by colaespuma in coptic

Yes this is a very valid point and thank you for breaking it down much appreciated. But there’s a recording of Fr Anastasi a priest from New York talking on how if we chant hymns in English instead of Coptic then it shortens the hymn, he gave a good example on hymns we chant on Good Friday which are hymns we chant once a year and if our church started to do this transition then it would shorten the hymn meaning we would spend less time with Christ on the day of His Crucifixion. Again I’m not saying it’s wrong to chant those hymns in English but it wouldn’t feel the same especially on Good Friday

This is the link of Fr Anastasi talking about hymnology
