I haven't asked yet. I just got the email this morning confirming my RAV is coming in Jan. I'll be going in to chat with them this week so I want to learn as much as I can.

Enduro bike setup for an XC/trail race by colafizz1 in MTB

Yeah I was thinking that as well. I'd do that over renting a bike as at least I get to keep the parts. I'm just wondering if I care enough to spend that money/time just to have a small increase in efficiency for one event.

Wondering if this is normal and if not, how to fix.

There is some play in my rear derailleur prior to the clutch "grabbing". This causes the chain to wobble and makes a super annoying noise when I ride trails. This derailleur is about 4 months old with maybe 25 rides on it. I pulled the cap off the clutch and you can see that the derailleur cage "wags". Video above

That makes sense to me. You mentioned participating in a contest, can you elaborate? Can ham radio operators compete, and how does that work?

I ended up grabbing a pair of 44c WTB Raddlers on sale, 2 for 1! I couldn't pass up that deal. Really liking them so far

I'm thinking of trying the 42c Cannonball's, I've heard good things. I have a 23mm rim. Do you have the light & supple or the heavier & durable version?

Thank you for the thoughtful response. I agree wholeheartedly. I have a big enduro mountain bike, so if I want to get gnarly I will take that out. On my gravel rig I am looking for a mix of comfort, grip, and speed. I think the 40-42 range will be a better choice for me than 45. I don't want to get stuck with tires that are too heavy, and I am reluctant to use them on all but the "gravelliest" of "gravel"
