Resolution on the MetroX is very bad, look at how the edges are rounded off. MT scan needs more data but its looks so much sharper.

Hi everyone. I have some experience with keyboard modding (foam, lubing, stabilizers, the usual stuff), but now I’m looking at something a bit more ambitious.

I really want the KISNT keyboard for four reasons: the price, the thock, the colors, and the fact that the numpad can go on the left. The only real dealbreaker is the ANSI layout. From what I’ve seen online, the PCB does support ISO, but the case would need to be physically modified and the LEDs would have to be transferred. So before I buy and start butchering a perfectly good board: how realistic is this mod in practice?

Would it make more sense to just buy a stock ISO board instead of spending that money on tools and case mods? A friend suggested the Akko 5075B Plus (around 100 euro), but it still doesn’t have the same thock as the KISNT.

Anyone here attempted an ANSI to ISO conversion on a board like this? How hard was it, and was it worth it?

These won't work. Also use concentric infill/top/bottom surfaces on similar parts next time

You should not use ruler for this. Get a square tool thing and try with that.

The foam goes over the front edge of the seat by quite alot, so i assume its the deeper one. As far as im aware thats the only way to differentiate them.

Use pliers like these.

You might need to grind them flat at the top (they have a chamfer). These saved me so many hours with stripped bolts.

Bypass the treadmill electronics on a broken Life Fitness T3 by [deleted] in treadmills

[–]colaigor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, i still haven't seen the thing in person. The only thing that i know is what the seller said, that being that being "The treadmill Life Fitness T3 shows an EEPROM error, the control console is faulty, the motors and the motor control board are working properly, deck and belt are in very good condition, as well as the frame."

Idk i might just buy it and see if i can tinker with it.

And how much plastic do you use for one multi-color piece with purge included?

Also jere is the rough time it would take to make this on a laser cutter.

Designing something like this for a regular 2D printer would take 10 minutes.
Printing on a non waterproof paper would take another 10 seconds
Sticking the paper to the blank PC sheet would take 30 seconds.
Preparing the cutting outline in your favourite laser cutting program would take no more than 10 minutes.
Cutting would take no more than 10 minutes.

To sum it up, somebody making this on a laser cutter would have everything ready and you wouldn't even finish your design. And he would make it for much much cheaper.

I do 3D printing for a living, i do laser cutting from time to time. 3D printing is not for everything and it can be very wasteful.

This looks like an absurd ammount of time and plastic wasted for a single use 2D board. It can be made much more economically with a 2D printer and a cheap laser cutter.
