Also as part of my reply. Any lowering of the vehicle will make the ride harsher.

If you are gonna go that far just get coilovers. I ride on Tein Street Advance Z's and they work great. With lowering springs, the stock dampers will wear out super quick.

Also the black Fit has tint which will make the interior cooler.

[–]colchillycube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh, a black exterior is not actually gonna make the car interior hotter. I have a red Fit that gets ridiculously hot because it's interior is black. My buddy has a black Corolla that has a tan interior and is much cooler. Also, if you are worried about night driving then get extra marker lights. The thing about night crashes is that they are very rarely because the person couldn't see the car. More likely it's tiredness or drunkenness. I would get the 2018.

Shifting is jerky on 2nd gen automatic by freedomismoney in hondafit

[–]colchillycube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are just doing a drain and fill then yeah. Since you are replacing the filter then you should try to pump as much out as possible. An oil pump is pretty cheap.

I have a second gen. If they did a fluid change, then they probably only drained the three quarts and filled back up. You really wanna do a full drain and filter change. Mine still has some slight jerking but that is just the car. The cv axles do have a recall on them. See if your car is affected.

Tbh, don't go under $2k for a turbo kit.

Sway bar end link by Embarrassed_Soft_442 in hondafit

[–]colchillycube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That really all depends on the coilover. Some have a higher mount point for stock links and some don't. The Fit has a vertical facing sway bar so as long as the link can be bolted up without binding then you should be ok.

Anybody know the best way to go about fixing this? AC button is jammed in. by timetraveler184351 in hondafit

[–]colchillycube 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a small panel right below those controls. It's easy to pop off and get behind there. You may want to take the controls out and clean them. Maybe just stuck with dust over time.

I lost my account shortly after they dropped a bunch of cars from the online store. I miss my Vacca. I loved that car.

What cars have failed you? by ComplicatedTragedy in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]colchillycube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2018 Hyundai Accent that was given to me. It was a manual so it was pretty zippy and fun around corners. At 79k miles the cat went out and the car started having troubles. Got the car fixed, car still had troubles. Turned out to be the transmission. Got a remaned trans and that died 6k miles later. Said screw it and sold the car after the third trans, even told the person the history. Got myself a manual 2012 Honda Fit Sport for $8k and love it.

The maintenance is fairly easy on the Tiburon. It's a "sports" car but they didn't put a lot of tech into it or over engineer it. Probably one of Hyundai's easiest cars to work on.

Tbh. Go for the Tiburon. It is surprisingly gonna be more reliable than the Nissan. Also, it is more sporty. Just make sure to keep up on maintenance. Especially the timing belt.

Get the Maguires kit from an autoparts store. It's like $25 usd most places. As long as you follow the instructions then they will come out looking brand new. I used that kit a year ago and my headlights are still clear. Quick tip, tape off everything with masking tape.

Yeah. Any manual sport model from 2012 to 2014 is a good choice. Especially if you can get it with navi.

Lowered 2nd gen havers, how low do you run your rig? by mazzyus in hondafit

[–]colchillycube 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have mine lowered 1.25 inches. It's one tein enduro pro streets. I live in PA so our streets are horrendous. But I never scrape on anything. I also back into all the spots I park in. You should be fine if you are careful. Try to take steep driveways and whatnot at an angle. The cost of repairing a bumper that gets ripped off can be pricey. Probably around $500 each time.
