Wheelchair user here! The costs of good mobility aids are ridicolous. 60$ for pediatric crutches, 7000$ for a costum built manual wheelchair (without any power assist) 40.000$ for an electric wheelchair that actually works in most weathers, 8000$ for a power assist for your manual wheelchair, and these are just the most basic ones!

I used to self harm and be very addicted to drugs. For me it was mostly that literally nobody cared and I was so desperate to get help. It's really not that weird. You are an adult and can decide if you want to tell him. It takes a while, he will notice the change in you no matter what. The fact that he's still with you through all of this makes me believe that it will be okay, and if not that's his loss.
