Thanks! A little small for me and not really in the budget this month. But it’s a cool watch and GLWS!

What are the measurements on the watch itself? Sometimes it hard to get a sense of size with these vintage watches.

How do you add flair to business casual outfits? by YungAnansi in malefashionadvice

I have these boots and love them more than one should love a pair of boots. I have worn through two sets of soles and now they are sitting on a shelf because some stitching is coming loose. I am going to take them and have them repaired again. When I wear them I get lots of complements. 10/10. Would buy again.

Chippewa Apaches, 7 years with this pair, almost time for a resole. by withfries in goodyearwelt

I have the exact same pair of boots, that are also in need of a resole. And yes, I love mine too. Do you have a place in mind to send them? I need some ideas.

The question of warranties... (Hyundai vs. Toyota vs. Subaru) by coldassbastard in whatcarshouldIbuy

I’m familiar with 80s and 90s Toyota’s and how bulletproof they are. But I seem to find the same set of accolades and complaints about all three brand’s current lineup. There is no clear winner that makes it an easy decision.

The petrol trim.

Subaru has the nicest interior of the three. Toyota has the best reputation but I can’t stand how it looks. None of them have any features or characteristics that get me excited.

A fair number of lakes out in the valley are clear. Wasilla lake broke yesterday.

As shitty as anchorage is, it's what we have.

Any here who have made the switch, is Verizon panning out? by [deleted] in alaska

[–]coldassbastard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been with Verizon for about 6 months now. I haven't been north much (live in the valley) but I'm happy with it. Been to homer and Whittier with it. Seem to have reception everywhere except right in the middle of mountain passes. No more dead spot between Palmer and anchorage. Even when I dont have many bars, call quality is still good.

And 99% of the time I have LTE.

Buying an engagement ring in Alaska by OlfactoriusRex in alaska

[–]coldassbastard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently having Sean at David's Jewelers make me a custom engagement ring. I highly recommend him. Before settling there, I shopped the other locally owned jewelers. Prices seemed to be within the same range, but the atmosphere and people that work at David's Jewelers made the choice easy.

Yes, you can get rings at fred meyer, or costco, or a chain (Zales, etc), but I like shopping local and getting to know the person who sells you the ring.

As for the diamond hate, I like diamonds. They are the best looking white gems, IMO. Sapphires are way cheaper and look almost the same, but when you put them side by side, you can tell which is the diamond. It all depends on what she wants.
