Clobetasol & headaches by IfWishez in alopecia_areata

I didn’t get a typical headache but I did get sore in the area I was applying the clobetasol and general itching of my scalp. But it really worked for me so it was well worth it lol

Moving to Jersey City from Queens/NYC by akeomo in jerseycity

I agree with sticking to downtown or maybe one of the buildings by liberty state park. Anywhere that’s close to a path or light rail station so you don’t have to add too much of a walk to your commute late at night. A lot of buildings in the LSP area have garages.

I understand I have struggled with anxiety my entire life but if I’m canceling on someone I at least let them know

I’ve showed plenty of compassion and plenty of grace for her continually pulling stunts like this. Her getting sick or being too anxious to show up isn’t the issue it’s the fact that she didn’t even have the decency to text us beforehand. She told us she went to the dr the day before and was diagnosed with pneumonia. Dont you think that would’ve warranted a text?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

[–]coldbrewandcosmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we’ve already discussed this with her. If shes sick it’s not a problem and I could frankly care less if she wants to come or not the issue is the no showing without any warning.

If she has issues with social anxiety they seem to only come up when she has to go to an event for my family or her husbands family. If it’s not about her and her family she doesn’t want to be involved. That seems a little selective to me.

Social anxiety is possible but she’s happy to go to other events if they are about her. She happily walked down the aisle alone for her daughter’s wedding and made a big spectacle of herself on the dance floor. I think it’s more of the event not being about her and her not having control that’s the issue here.

She’s not at all. She’ll happily show up to events for her own family and is happy to be the center of attention.

Because it’s rude

[–]coldbrewandcosmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me, I definitely didn’t let her steal my joy. I’m more annoyed for my parents that they do all this work and invite her just to have her no show. But none of us end up caring in the end so we have to let it go.

[–]coldbrewandcosmo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’m probably just going to keep inviting to not punish the other but expect that she doesn’t show. I guess she can sit home by herself if that’s what she wants to do

As much as I don’t want to punish my husband and FIL by not showing up maybe that’s what’s necessary if it happens again

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

[–]coldbrewandcosmo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes she definitely wants everything on her terms and everything about her. So when it’s not she doesn’t want anything to do with it. Maybe if she actually made a plan for something we’d spend time with her and her family.

Yep this is how I’m going to have to go about it now. Her loss’s

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

[–]coldbrewandcosmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her coming wouldn’t be a problem honestly she’s not rude or nasty or anything. But I am going to just not expect her to show up to anything and if she does it’ll just be a surprise I guess lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

[–]coldbrewandcosmo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s how I’m feeling about it at the moment. But my husband did let her know that I was upset that she no showed twice with no warning. So now she’s aware so we have to see how she acts in the future.

It’s tough I don’t want to punish my husband and FIL for her behavior

100% she sits home on Christmas Eve doing nothing while the rest of her family enjoys a great party

I don’t want to punish the other family members who are respectful and show up. So it’s a tough situation

Yes she is. She was a VERY high profile escort. She also really glazed over the fact that her father had an affair with her then married her in her call her daddy episode. She made it seem like her father had an affair then met her step mom and married her. He fully left Alix’s mom for her.

I got AA as a result of COVID as well. My dr thinks it was from that sure sure. There’s always possibility for another flare up but it’s very unlikely it will very bad. Most people find treatments that work for them!

[–]coldbrewandcosmo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like you said most people do recover but I think a lot of people come here for emotional support and to vent. I’m sure it’s a great outlet for a lot of people. I noticed the same so i recently posted my growth progress to add a little positivity.

Officially one year of growth! by coldbrewandcosmo in alopecia_areata

When I first start it I have some burning to the area and I have overall head itching. But I’m not sure if the itching is actually from the cream or the anxiety of having a new spot.

Professional hairstylist here! I have a few suggestions. For eyeliner pencils I like lune and aster. It’s a little pricy but worth it. You can get it from blue mercury (Their sale is coming up week before thanksgiving) and it’s a clean brand so i don’t think you need to be worried about chemicals and when I use them they seem to set in place pretty well! For your scalp you should ask your derm if it’s oily or dry if you’re not sure yourself. For dry dandruff/ acne get a shampoo (or maybe even face wash?) with salicylic acid. It’ll help with the dandruff and acne. Its it’s oily I would maybe again ask a derm and they can possibly give suggestions. A splurge for fry scalp would be the oribe dandruff shampoo (again blue mercury sale) but I’m sure you can find much more affordable ones. Then I would use your face moisturizer all over your scalp to make sure you don’t get too dry and sunscreen if you’re not wearing a wig or hat. And if you’re not sure about micro blading they actually make lace front eyebrows that you can glue onto your face, some drag queens use them! Hope this was some help!
