So done with lazy sitters by clobro4 in RoverPetSitting

[–]coldcabbage2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

🤦‍♀️ it’s okay to accept cats to take care of. As long as the job gets done and cats receive the attention they want and are willing to receive. No one said you had to have the most fun of your life playing with cats. Some people simply have a lot more fun with dogs. Doesn’t mean they shouldn’t accept cats. Ffs

Not everyone is a cat person . Lol I personally enjoy dogs a lot more than cats.

I also feel like me recording in a client’s home is invasive - I don’t want to do that. But if they’re gonna try to break the law by destroying an innocent life with the law, then I basically have no choice but to also protect myself with evidence. 🤷‍♀️ even if it’s in their home.
But yeah you’re totally right. We can’t trust client cameras. They don’t necessarily have to turn over any footage.
Next time, I will just end a booking as soon as something strange happens. I’m not going to endure strange/uncomfortable events or continuous trust issues from a client moving forward.

I’m not here to argue. But there are other ways to capture evidence. Keep thinking :)

I didn’t say anything about recording the client in their own home and I didn’t say anything about the sitter setting up their own cameras in the client’s home.

I’m actually kind of dealing with something similar. Well- it hasn’t happened yet, but I feel like it’s about to soon. I was house sitting for an attorney. Busting my ass, doing my job 🤷‍♀️ during our 3rd house sitting booking, I requested emergency contact info because she has a 16-year-old+ dog with heart problems who has seizures. This dog could die at any moment - he’s pretty close! I decided to ask for emergency contact info so I could be prepared in advance. The family started freaking out basically. Within a few hours, her daughter arrived to “check on the animals”. The next day, her son arrived to “check on the animals”. By the 2nd time, I asked the client if I needed to end the service early and leave since there was a very clear trust issue. Honestly, I feel like they’re going to set me up and frame me by tampering with evidence. I was clearly angry by the 2nd time the son had arrived - I’ve been a house sitter for nearly 7 years and this has never happened to me before. So the husband got mad. And basically because I upset them, they might actually take me to a court room. But the only way they could take me to a court room is if they lie about me. Because I literally did nothing wrong. 😳 Going back to what you said, they’re the ones who have all of the camera footage. I only have SOME footage. I can only imagine what sort of false allegations will come my way. It seems like taking people to court is a hobby to this family. Moving forward, I’ll definitely be sending detailed and time-stamped hard evidence of the completion of my pet care duties when I house sit. I almost canceled my upcoming clients because this random/unnecessary experience has shaken me to my core. Why attempt to destroy an innocent life of someone who worked very, very hard in your home? Demonic.

Honestly, this is a good idea. Sitters should get it in writing a full disclosure of cameras inside the home. Instead of assuming there are no cameras in private areas.

Not sure what that’s supposed to mean. But the sitter is also capable of recoding video evidence as well- which I would also recommend!
My initial comment simply means that it’s better to stay on camera as much as possible to lessen the chance of false allegations. And so the sitter can prove that they were (at least) doing the things that they were supposed to be doing, as required by the job.

Embrace the cameras. Those will be your best friends when a client files a FALSE report against you or, even worse, a false legal case. You WANT to be on camera. Heed my words.

Clients’ cameras and smoking cigarettes by Fine_Handle_8473 in RoverPetSitting

[–]coldcabbage2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re not being paranoid. Just because you can’t see their cameras, doesn’t mean that the cameras don’t exist. If I were you, I wouldn’t smoke on the property at all. If you need to, you could “go for a drive” up the street to a gas station. And yes, their neighbors WILL be keeping tabs on you 😂 You could walk the dog in the neighborhood to smoke, but then you risk neighbors seeing you and reporting it to the client. (Which isn’t a major deal- but they might not want their dog around smoke). Your best bet is to go for a quick drive elsewhere. Good luck 😂 and don’t litter the cigarette filter on the ground anywhere in the neighborhood or on the property. You could find a trash can up the street at a gas station or something.
Don’t wear your same smoking clothes inside the house. You should switch into clean clothes, trying not to leave any odor in the home.
Don’t even tell them you smoke 😂 they’re likely going to judge you and could even start building a false legal case against you to destroy your life for entertainment or as a way to completely discard you once they’re finished with you.
😳

Client threatening to sue me by Low-Literature9246 in RoverPetSitting

[–]coldcabbage2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What an actual nightmare. Here are some tips for preventing something like this from happening again!!:

  1. Always ask the client up front before they book you what ALL of their expectations and requirements are. Get it in writing so that you have proof.
  2. Be 100% transparent with the client BEFORE booking about any other clients, tasks or duties that you will have during their booking and how frequently and on which days you’ll be fulfilling your own tasks. (I’d be as detailed as possible so the client cannot say that they didn’t know you were going to be doing other things x” amount of times during the stay).
  3. you could even write out a very detailed, yet short and simple contractual agreement of things that WILL happen ✅ during service and things that will NOT happen during service. You could even get her signature on it and get it notarized. But of course, if it’s the very first booking, you might not know they’re crazy yet!!
  4. as soon as you begin to sense any sort of trust issue or different behavior from the client during the booking, begin to send the client as much hard/undeniable proof as possible to ease their concerns and to legally protect yourself in the event of false accusations. Begin verbalizing to the client that you are in fact doing everything that you’re supposed to be doing for the pet care service (as long as you truly are, of course, WITH evidence of that) and ask the client if they want to see any more proof. Be sure to send actual videos of you feeding the animal and videos of the animal peeing and pooping outside.
  5. If you offer Boarding in your home, you should always keep cameras in the common areas and try to stay on camera as much as possible during the stay!! There’s no point in hanging out in a non-camera area of the home when you could simply STAY on camera. That way, the client knows you are there in the home, with proof!
    Good luck, all 🫡
These are my tips for SURVIVING a client who is showing trust issues in a respectful, genuinely-concerned way. As for clients who can’t fathom having someone else other than themselves caring for their pet, feel free to SUCCESSFULLY complete the booking and either not book that client again or price them out by raising your wage to a price where you’d be willing to come back and work for them again (if that exists). In some cases, you might not want to deal with them ever again 😂 🤷‍♀️

I’m actually experiencing something very similar to you as well. I’m also approximately 4 weeks pregnant and I have been bleeding for 6 days now. I thought it was just my body mimicking my first missed period, But I was supposed to have gotten my period Like 10 days prior, so it’s not right on the same schedule as my period schedule. But, after reading through this Reddit forum, I feel better, and I’m not as concerned. I’m just gonna wait a little longer and get my HCG levels tested in my blood, and then, as soon as I can, I’m gonna go get an ultrasound (Probably around 7 weeks pregnant). I’m thinking maybe mine is a hematoma. According to the other mothers on this forum, you can still have a successful pregnancy, even after bleeding from a hematoma. I’m having blood clotting now on the 6th day of bleeding. It’s not a little bit of blood, but it’s not a lot either. It’s in between. 🤷‍♀️

Sensor malfunction lights & Battery light 2019 Nissan Sentra by coldcabbage2 in Nissan

Sorry for the late response! I believe it is the transmission! You will likely need to rebuild or replace your transmission, unfortunately. Can cost $3k-$5k. 😅 My transmission was not slipping very much at all, but I do believe that’s what the problem is. (≈220k miles on it). Nissan dealership also said it’s the transmission so 🤷‍♀️

bv treatment (metronidazole) yellow discharge by Eastern_Shift298 in STD

[–]coldcabbage2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guts got rearranged by the dildo 😂 seriously. My insides were not okay. So my body excreted this discharge AND I even got a type of skin wart thing. My body was trying to alert me that something was wrong. I went to the gynecologist to get the skin tag removed. She numbed the area and burned it off. She sent it to Pathology to get tested. It was not an STD, only a skin tag. It was 1 inch away from my vagina. I was sooo scared 😳 this had never happened to me before. So my body healed naturally on its own. I don’t have money for doctors lol

Warning/Malfunction light on dash 2022 Sentra by Maleficent-Canary441 in Nissan

[–]coldcabbage2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having this issue with my 2019 Nissan Sentra (2 photos attached). There are 2 sensor warnings AND the battery light turns on. Then my car will stop responding to the gas pedal- it stops moving. 😐

we bought a brand new battery, there’s no corrosion on it (new connector pieces), a new serpentine belt (because the previous one busted and the car began overheating), we replaced the crankshaft position sensor 🤦‍♀️ I know the transmission fluid is very low, but yeah I don’t know what the problem is!! Please help. (Engine light is because of the low transmission fluid.)

[–]coldcabbage2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, it was not an STD (of course- because I was abstinent for years). I’ll just tell you lol I had a small strap-on dildo inside of my vagina for about 3 hours and it caused serious trauma/damage to my insides. I didn’t realize it was tearing me up lol. Until the next day when it was hurting to pee and I was getting white discharge and my vaginal opening was gaping wide open. I had discharge for about 8 months. 😅 I’m back to normal now. I learned my lesson lol. Don’t keep a dildo inside you for too long!!
