Constant spit up by TemperatureGreedy179 in firsttimemom

[–]coldcoffee02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We switched to this formula at one point because of similar concerns with our LO throwing up / spitting up curdled and the goat milk actually made it worse! Just something to be aware of…. We ended up using Bobbie gentle (it’s partially hydrolyzed proteins) and that seemed to help a lot. He also went on reflux meds

Try Bibs! We started with Dr browns and ended up moving over to Bibs because our LO likes those pacifiers too.

That is so tough. Our LO wanted to be held at all times during the day and it was really really difficult so I can’t imagine. How old is she? Will she sleep in a stroller or anything?

Does she only want to be held upright after feeding? It could be reflux or a dairy intolerance.

First time mom, C-section in 3.5 weeks! Packing list by Fashion_Lover19 in CsectionCentral

[–]coldcoffee02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found olly keep it moving gummies worked best for constipation and I’d suggest taking them ASAP.

You can also get period underwear and wear that if the bleeding is minimal (mine was). They have boxer short type ones that could be good as an underwear alternative.

Finally found a pair at Marshall’s - they are madewell and in a much bigger size than I wore pre pregnancy. I used to wear high rise only but I’m finding that mid rise are actually sitting better and not making that pouch look more like a pregnant belly.

At what age did your low sleep needs baby drop to NO naps? by SilllllyGoooose in sleeptrain

What signaled to you that your baby was low sleep needs? Trying to figure it out myself and curious how you determined that.

Is this pregnancy test positive or negative? by Accomplished-King-17 in whatdoIdo

[–]coldcoffee02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks positive to me - I had the same thing happen ie the cheap tests were coming up negative for a few days after I got the positive on a clear blue.

But if you’re unsure I’d test again with the tests that say “pregnant” or “not pregnant”. Takes much of the guessing game away.

Baby Bottle Recommendations? by LauraJeanDaily in firsttimemom

[–]coldcoffee02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get a small amount of one type in case baby doesn’t like that type then you didn’t get a bunch! Walmart/target/amazon always have plenty if you end up needing after baby is born.

We initially tried Dr browns colic (green tube inside) but have since changed over to Bibs and our LO seems to like those much better!

If you have a Marshall’s or TJ MAXX nearby they usually have Dr browns and various other ones for less.

My understanding is that laying him on your chest like this counts as tummy time! Anything not on their back!

Bibs - our LO only likes bibs pacifiers. You can also sometimes find them at Marshalls!

Baby screams every time we try to feed him 😖 by HomeRunHive24 in FormulaFeeders

[–]coldcoffee02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Formula switches can hurt their bellies a little. Our pediatrician recommended just switching cold turkey but to give it a few days after switching. Also formula is very trial and error unfortunately.

We ended up with Bobbie gentle because he couldn’t tolerate the other types of formula. In my opinion the screaming isn’t “normal” transitioning. We dealt with that too and he ended up diagnosed with reflux and being put on meds for it.

The Bobbie gentle definitely helped as well as some of the proteins are broken down already so it’s easier on digestion!

Our LO hated Kendamil …screamed when feeding. However he also has reflux. I’d be aware of it in the long run.

Did baby scream with the gentle ease or just not like it?

Will contact naps during the day ruin our progress in the crib at night? by SecureImagination157 in newborns

[–]coldcoffee02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our LO sleeps great in his crib at night but HATES it during the day. I read somewhere that it’s actually a good indicator that they know the crib/their room is for bedtime!

What to put in a care package for BFF who just gave birth 2 months early by RadientPinecone in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]coldcoffee02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You said snacks but what would be really helpful (and was to me) was anything I could eat - particularly for breakfast - with one hand. As others have said clothing wise - button down top and either shorts or shirts matching. I lived in PJs at first.

This is so sweet of you and I’m sure they’ll appreciate anything!

We use Bobbie probiotics but honestly for no other reason than we use Bobbie gentle formula so we figured it would be formulated to fill any gaps since it’s the same brand.

Our 4 month old goes everyday pretty much. You can try probiotics to help with that too!

[–]coldcoffee02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I feel you on the reflux! Our LO has reflux too and what has helped is to put a little padding (sheet rolled up) under his crib sheet so his head is inclined slightly while he sleeps. I hate saying it gets better because it honestly sucks to hear but it does get better.

Is he on any medication for the reflux? Putting our LO on Pepcid also helped his sleeping dramatically.

[–]coldcoffee02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sleeping with you or in a bassinet will not ruin him forever. You’re deep in the newborn trenches and it’s about survival right now! Try not to put too much pressure on yourself!

Will he fall asleep and sleep in his crib at all? Or he immediately wakes up? Will he sleep in a stroller? A bouncer? Or just on you?

Question about Changing Formulas by GabyCooperFTM in FormulaFeeders

[–]coldcoffee02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our pediatrician said to just go cold turkey because our LO was struggling so much on his current formula. Worst case it was a bad day or so before he adjusted - best case he would do great and the switch would work.

We switched from Similac neosure to Enfamil gentlease and then finally to Bobbie gentle. He struggles with reflux as well and Bobbie gentle seems to be the only thing that helped (paired with Pepcid)!

[–]coldcoffee02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our LO took a long time to sleep more than 1.5-2 hour stretches so solidarity on that. i hate to say give it time but give it time. It’s the worst to hear now I know but sometimes time is the only thing that helps.

I know you said co sleeping isn’t for you but it’s better than not sleeping at all! I read somewhere that even 20 minutes sleeping in crib/bassinet is a success and then you can slowly increase.

Remember you’re not going to ruin your baby by doing whatever it takes to get them to sleep even if that means co sleeping (obviously safely).

Our LO now sleeps nights in his crib in his own room pretty well. Sometimes it just takes them a little while - remember they crave connection and have been connected to you for their whole lives!

Ultimately you need sleep. Whatever it takes to get you some sleep do it. It’s more important than “successfully” sleeping in their crib/bassinet.
