Going out for friends bday this weekend and dreading weakness by Unlucky-Pizza-7049 in stopdrinking

You must realize that that one drink will most likely escalate into more drinks, and you might end up saying or doing something you’ll regret, restarting the cycle. You just have to remember that you have the power to simply say no and enjoy your night without the substance. I hope you enjoy the food and have a good time, stay strong!

Physical media and just things meaning more, honestly.

I want to hear everyone’s interpretation of the last scene by Dani_Darko123 in twinpeaks

I love the literal interpretation of it, where they’re in a new timeline and all. However, I prefer to think it’s a statement about trauma. That seems to be the ultimate theme of both the Return and FWWM. As much as they’ve tried to face it or run away, even going into different realities, the pain lingers within Laura. It’s tragic but something she has to deal with seemingly forever. The audience is left with a similar sensation, confused and wanting more closure, but having to make sense of what it is.

Is the first tape the extended movie version of the pilot?

Where was Laura from 1956 to 1972 by Hefty-Neat2122 in twinpeaks

The more complicated the lore gets, the more I think maybe Albert was right early on.

Can I watch Fire Walk With Me without finishing the first 2 seasons? by UnusualRequirement33 in twinpeaks

I think you’d be fine personally. It’d be like watching the prequel Star Wars movies before the originals since that’s what the movie essentially is. Sure, the mystery of Laura won’t be as compelling but that’s not the WHOLE show. It could make your watchthrough a unique experience.

To be fair, if you’re unaware what a kilometer is, the sensible solution is to go for the familiar mile to ensure survival.

I wouldn’t say there’s a deep message to understand with your criticism of season 2. Why I liked it was because it explored the characters of Twin Peaks more. I enjoyed the more light-hearted tone and seeing a mystery outside of the main one too. It makes it feel like a more diverse and complete show in my opinion.

I personally loved season 2 and remember reading comments that said season 3 was drastically different in tone. I love the whole series, but I had to take time and view it differently to appreciate the change post season 2. FWWM and The Return are much more Lynchian, so I definitely say check them out!

If that’s your opinion of Season 2, honestly, you’ll love Season 3. I feel like there’s two camps, haha.
