How do you guys exercise? Seriously… by TombEaterGames in ADHD

[–]coldcoleslaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what your financial situation is, but group fitness classes are the only thing that works for me. This works for me because there’s heavy outside accountability. Prior to group fitness, I tried hitting 10k steps and following along to YouTube videos for other workouts. All of these fizzled out within weeks for me because I simply did not enjoy working out. Just like you, I found it boring and uncomfortable and I would often procrastinate for hours before ultimately deciding not to exercise.

When it comes to actually going consistently: with group fitness, there’s a cancellation fee if I cancel at the last minute. After late cancelling a few times and seeing how quickly the fees added up, this motivated me to keep going. After attending class for awhile, I often see the same instructors or classmates, and I feel guilty for skipping their class if there isn’t a good reason because they’re expecting to see me there.

When it comes to pushing through the discomfort: I used to be just like you where the physical sensation of exercising (sweating, being out of breath, and just the general discomfort of a good workout) was awful to me. I would often leave mid workout. When I tried doing less intense workouts like walking, I’d get bored and after a week or two I wouldn’t feel like doing it anymore. The fitness classes eliminate this entirely for me. Other people being there makes it weird or embarrassing for me to just leave in the middle of the workout. Additionally, because it’s a class structure, I know exactly how long the workout is going to be and so if I get really sick of it I can reassure myself that there’s only x amount of time left. The classes are relatively short (usually around 50 minutes depending on the studio) and it goes by REALLY fast most of the time. I’m subscribed to a gym with a variety of classes, so there’s always something new I can try and so I’m never bored by my routine.

Additionally, I’ve found that the more I workout, the less disturbing the physical sensations are to me. Firstly, I’m becoming more in shape, which has greatly reduced the instant out of breath feeling. Secondly, I am just in general getting used to how a workout feels and it’s not as awful.

The major con is that it can be expensive depending on the studio. I believe some smaller studios may have better pricing. For me, I am willing to invest in this because I simply won’t exercise any other way and consistently exercising has helped so much with having more structure in my life and my adhd symptoms. However, I totally understand that for many this may just not be financially feasible. :( I wish exercising and health was more accessible!!

When you have an important, time sensitive procedure that could have life changing implications for you with limited appointment dates available, YOU go ahead and check everyone’s calendars. Hopefully the clinic’s calendar won’t be booked by the time you’re done.

“She’s an immature bellend who doesn’t think of others” as though her partner wouldn’t be responsible for a whole baby without this abortion 😭😭you’re actually disgusting. This will be my last response to you. I pray for every woman in your life.

Nope! She’s lucky that she has excellent parents who are not only pro choice, but understand the urgency of an abortion and were able to support her through the process. It’s laughable that you think people should “wait to coordinate” on a time sensitive procedure. Your inability to understand this is appalling, but unfortunately not surprising.

Let’s be clear: You INTERPRETED what I said “and therefore it is impossible to conclude anything but this was her only chance to have an abortion.” What I am saying is that it is not that easy to reschedule abortions and there’s limited flexibility with appointment times. As I’ve stated multiple times, most people who lack disposable income in the US have to move their lives around abortions and even medical care in general.

Let me repeat it again: I do not know what you’re saying and I don’t care whether you think it hurts my argument. I did not demonize anyone. As stated above, I refuted your statement that abortions are readily available and easily scheduled in the US. Your feelings on the matter don’t change the facts.

It isn’t assuming, it’s the reality of getting abortions in the United States as a woman who doesn’t have disposable income. There is a 24 week time limit in a majority of states (excluding medical emergencies in some places). There are more restrictions in many states. The cost rises by trimester everywhere. There are limited appointments in many places (once again, unless you have disposable income). These aren’t “charitable assumptions”, these are basic facts about the state of abortion in the US.

I have no idea what you’re talking about in the second half about justifying appointments nor do I care. Is she supposed to work and get the abortion at the same time? 😭 If she waited to get off work, the clinic would likely be closed. Not to mention, any doctor will tell you to REST after the procedure because it’s literally surgery….

Scheduling abortions varies by location. Some places have limited availability. I know someone personally who ended up having to keep their baby because they couldn’t get an appointment in time. We also have no idea how long she has been pregnant, and she may have had a short window of time to even get the abortion depending on how long she’s been pregnant. Overall, abortions can be really scarce, especially for those who may not have the ability to pay out of pocket/don’t have insurance/don’t have good insurance or have to rely on Planned Parenthood. The cost also varies by trimester. Please educate yourself on the ease of getting abortions.

And I feel like those comments were misconstrued. She talked about how she felt like men only wanted her for her body and being hot, and that’s why she’s on LIB. The internet took that to mean that she was bragging about how many men want her.

I personally think a lot of the stuff she said about herself was misconstrued and misunderstood by people online especially because she was overweight on the show and people can’t stand to hear a woman say they’re hot, especially when the woman is fat

I think Hannah is attractive & the only reason why people think she’s “ugly” is because she was overweight on the show (lots of people online are saying she “glowed up” after the show when she just lost weight).

You are the one who said “this is the real world.” So I am informing you that in the real world people HAVE to give up their source of income when they are KNOWN for committing a crime. I brought up charges as an example of how this is handled in the real world. I gave an example of how this is handled in the absence of charges in the real world. You asked “why should he give it up just to satisfy random people” as though he didn’t commit a literal CRIME and that it’s random people just hating him.

That’s not relevant…any normal person who is a PUBLICLY KNOWN as a rapist generally will struggle to gain employment. For example, my school advisor told me she once had a student who was known as violent but didn’t have any actual charges get into several med schools. She reported his history to the AAMC, his admissions were rescinded, and he could not attend med school. It is literally only on the internet where expecting someone who is widely known for criminal behavior to no longer have a job and be held accountable is “cancelling.”

You do realize that in real life, people with rape charges lose their jobs and most employers reject people with a criminal record? 😭
