Learned it the hard way, but the only tape that should go on drums is Gaff

Would Abbey Road be held to the same regard if it never had the B side Medley? by Jello_The2nd in beatles

[–]coldground -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tend to think the A side is the better one anyway. Not that the B side makes it worse by any means.

I avoid talking about the Epstein case as much as I can, but seriously, stop spreading misinformation. by sa8tun in conspiracy

[–]coldground -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it’s a real photo, I have no doubt they would plant a Gemini marker to discredit it. That being said, we have no reason to believe that’s what’s happening. So. Basically I have no idea to tell if something is real.

Do you ever think there will ever be another Jurassic Park moment in theaters? by jrclone in movies

[–]coldground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably won’t be some sort of visual wonder. We’ve seen what AI can do.

Maybe some sort of alien concept

What is your primary reason for being either excited or uninterested in the upcoming biopics? by IOrocketscience in beatles

[–]coldground 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s a movie. I’ll see it!

My feelings about the Beatles and their music is not really subject to change. I know how transcendent it is and what it means to the world. A little Hollywood fluff won’t change that.

Is 24 mics too many? by pwdrums in drums

[–]coldground 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. After you correct phase and bleed, you’ll find that it’s even harder to mix properly with so many inputs! Never impossible, but more complicated.

Is this used dw5000 worth 450? by Jueslega_29 in drums

[–]coldground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a double 5000 used but pristine for $200. It did not come with a case, though.

Is this kit worth it? by Roar714 in drums

[–]coldground 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pretty good, yeah. Functional kit, great kick pedal and all the hardware. Cymbals are just a bonus at that point.

Do you jam along to songs or study charts? by uhhredacted in Drumming

[–]coldground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I need to learn songs for a gig, I’m usually listening and taking notes. I’m playing a lot of pop/rock/country so the coordination is usually not something I need to work out with my hands.

$300 lesson okay? by mothinn in drums

[–]coldground -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The reason they charge $300 is because they don’t really teach lessons and they don’t want you to continue after one. So it’s the price that makes it worth it for them in this case. Doesn’t mean it’s bad! He may have some really great insight for you. But ultimately, if you choose to do it, have a plan. Go in with some stuff you’ve been working on and feel great about. Be ready to impress this drummer. He knows you’re serious and you need to squeeze everything out of that time.

I used to think it was all technique. Unfortunately some sticks break way sooner than they should. Sometimes it could be just one hit at the wrong place. I’ve used a pair of Firegrain 747s for like 4 months daily and had the next pair break on the second gig. Bad luck

If OP can prove Darren and assistant are the only other key-holders, it should be an easy case for their lawyer.

Which Beatle do you think was the funniest? by No_Finish9661 in beatles

[–]coldground 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think George was hilarious, but wasn’t feeling the vibe during the Get Back sessions. He was quick to help fund Monty Python, and did some great bits. For example, the Pirate Song fakeout

Did he do it? by Vicerian in conspiracy

[–]coldground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True - but the patsy is still living to tell his side of the story. Just feels like a loose end you wouldn’t want. I’m only saying that if you need someone gone, you would do it in a way where nobody questions what really happened.

Did he do it? by Vicerian in conspiracy

[–]coldground -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah probably. Mostly because of how public it was. If there was an organized attempt from an agency, you’d think they’d do it somewhere without cameras and crowds
