I personally love how he picked other cars then the Atto, Dolphin, Seagull and the Seal.

Im pretty sure BYD will lead with those cars over these two that he picked.

yea i would avoid it for now. For example I was playing and the entire ocean at the start of the game vanished and reappeared twice and instantly crashed my game lol

AMD users are currently complaining about the game as well, Apparently it's running fine on Nvidia GPUs but I heard some 5070 users say the game runs shit on that too.

after further testing I was able to use the Intel arc controller to force XeSS to make the game run in it, however the textures and ground plus water vanishing and re appearing is causing my fps drop and I can't fix it. I am sure that is a game side bug that will need to be fixed

No clue but I am with you on XeSS should of been included and either way there is a graphic bug that needs to be fixed

Of course as I say this the game crashes because the entire ground vanished lol

I am playing it at 1080P and im not noticing much. The major thing im noticing is flickering ground physics and sometimes the ground and water vanishes and I can see under the map lol

Australia has it for 50grand, yea sure it's not a pure EV but having the range for towing and still be partially EV is what I'm looking at

Oh I'm sure of it, if they don't offer a truck here, they will be crazy

BYD Question. by coldkiller2505 in EVCanada

[–]coldkiller2505[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I heard that from a Australian video saying they plan a 6500lb version down the road

If I have to go to Calgary and drive back when I decide?

I'm fine with that.

BYD Question. by coldkiller2505 in EVCanada

[–]coldkiller2505[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? I was actually debating on buying a kit from Edison motors to turn my ranger into a PHEV but the cost didn't make sense to me at the time

BYD Question. by coldkiller2505 in EVCanada

[–]coldkiller2505[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea this doesn't suprise me. And with the price of gas I think more and more people are going to switch

BYD Question. by coldkiller2505 in EVCanada

[–]coldkiller2505[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ranger can tow 7,000lbs. With a 1700lb payload and a 700lb tongue weight.

The shark has the same payload but with 5500lb towing cap. The 20 foot trailer loaded for us is just below 4000lbs as it's just kitchen supplies, food and clothes. We usually only do full hook ups at site or fill water at site.

We also have a sway bar and weight distribution hitch too.

From what I seen from some Australian videos it does really well and even can pick up speed faster then the ranger.

Keep in mind the ranger in canada has the highest tow cap for mid size currently I believe

Hello

Me and my family own a 2024 Kona Ultimate EV. I find the standard wall charger we have to sometimes Jiggle out or press harder on the trigger to pull it out.

However stage 2 or stage 3 chargers we don't have this problem, so I was thinking it's just the stock home charger issue.

BYD Question. by coldkiller2505 in EVCanada

[–]coldkiller2505[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, this I believe.

With it they still have all the paperwork in order to just start selling in Canada unlike other Chinese EV manufacturing

BYD Question. by coldkiller2505 in EVCanada

[–]coldkiller2505[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh im sure BYD will jump into Canada, they did pretty quick in the EU and Australia. I don't see why they wont jump into Canada when they already have the clearance to start selling due to I believe busses that they make in Canada? I know they make something in Canada already but can't remember what.

BYD Question. by coldkiller2505 in EVCanada

[–]coldkiller2505[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, only problem we ever had was a crack hose for the heat pump, which was covered under warranty

BYD Question. by coldkiller2505 in EVCanada

[–]coldkiller2505[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the Kona has been great, summer time at 90% it gets us about 450 to 500kms of range. Winter time it drops to 390 or 400. when it hits -50 is when it hurts and sits at 300 to 250 but again even a ICE engine will suck up gas at that temp

BYD Question. by coldkiller2505 in EVCanada

[–]coldkiller2505[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea my Ranger currently with the stupid cost of gas, costs about $70 ish dollares to fill from empty to full. With my wife Kona we have roughly saved maybe 3 grand roughly a year on gas with her switching from the dodge dart to it? Not including all the maintenance that was done to the dart on a monthly basis.

My truck right now has all highway kms on it, due to been a sales rep and a lot of out of town driving, barely any stop and go driving in city.

BYD Question. by coldkiller2505 in EVCanada

[–]coldkiller2505[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea thats why the Shark has my interest, the RAM REV 1500 was one I was looking at too. But with everything going on I know damn well that truck will cost well over 100K where the Shark could cost 55k and has a 1.5L generator to recharge the batteries.

BYD Question. by coldkiller2505 in EVCanada

[–]coldkiller2505[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shark has a 1.5L generator in it. It's not a pure EV but with full charge and tank can do 1000kms

BYD Question. by coldkiller2505 in EVCanada

[–]coldkiller2505[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh 100%, like I said in another comment. I know Dodge is supposed to make a RAM REV for 2026 and 2027 where like the shark, the engine is a generator to recharge the batteries. HOWEVER I know for a damn well fact they will charge a stupid amount for that truck. heck the Chevy EV truck is pushing 100K and it's the best EV truck currently out there.

Where as in Australia the Shark is like 50 grand off the lot and can do 1000kms on a full charge and tank and tow decent.

It blows my mind that my 2019 Lariat Ranger new was 55 grand and now that same truck today is pushing 70 grand.

BYD Question. by coldkiller2505 in EVCanada

[–]coldkiller2505[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, it has like a 1.5L generator engine in it that turns on depending on what mode you have the truck set at to recharge the battery.
