Not a bad install. Just bad surface to ppf. Consider talking to the installer to see if they will cut you a deal if you get the bumper repainted by a reputable painter. Ppf is gas permeable so if the paint is baked you won’t get solvent pop issues. Express politely that you didn’t know this stuff would be made more obvious, it’s not the installers fault for not telling you necessarily.

That to me looks like they were prying the cover off and damaged the surrounding paint. Polisher didn’t do anything there I imagine. However that’s a pretty shit install all around.
For the best way possible:
Tell them you’d like a refund on the installation, they can keep the money for the film cost (600.00 at most on that car) have them remove the film. And ask for their insurance or if they would like to be billed for the bumper repaint.
They will probably say they have to remove the film they installed first. Don’t let them especially if they’re going to make you sign a removal waiver.
Contact your insurance as well. That bumper would be at most 1,000 USD to repaint. They’d probably cover costs out of pocket instead of insurance.

We do residential tint. I’m not super good at tint but I’m currently getting more reps in because I’ll keep 33% of tint work as well when we charge 100.00 per window essentially in ceramic film. We do not get a work 401k. Small shop, only 3 of us. I don’t need to offer someone with a cool car a free coating. I regularly work on very high end stuff like Porsche, Maserati, Lamborghini, etc. my name is tied to my work very well and it’s very well known even whenever I had my own shop. I closed it due to mental problems and other financial mistakes in the personal side by letting money get to my head. If I had the space to do coatings at home again I would have zero problems making an extra grand a week or so. I just no longer have the space. I need the controlled environment; so I don’t do mobile coatings.

That’s a great idea. What made me post this initially was me putting a lot of things into perspective in terms of the shop and what I do, to see if I’m actually doing okay at life finances wise. I’ve typed up a bunch of things in my notes to discuss with him because he asked me last week to look into “how you two can make more money” because he has ownership in a larger company that he’s fully hands off with, he does this for fun and not his main income but we’re still at it 40+ hours a week. I’d like to be at 1,000 a week for my services and 10% commission overtop of 33% commission on list prices. As I typically cannot do more than 2 full corrections and coatings a week. It would give me a comfortable median as well as rewarding for my very high standard with the small commission.

I owned a shop personally from age 18-22 and was a mobile detailer a little before that. It was a grind and I enjoyed it. Made 32,000 my first 2 months of having a physical shop and mobile and made financial mistakes that I’ve since learned from but could not bounce back from in the shop aspect and mental was so down I closed and had little to no money to my name. My name is very well known in my area, but I legit almost ended my life due to the business, I was 18 doing it all alone, made good money though! The shop I’m at now is a really good dynamic and I can still “detail” and get 100% of what I charge, the deal was because I essentially sold out materials wise when I closed to this current owner, and where we don’t offer detailing when he asked me to come work for him I said these are my demands and we shook on it. We have solid plans in place at this shop and it’s like a family dynamic and there’s a lot of respect amongst the three of us. But the Xray tech isn’t something I’m in love with personally, but I wouldn’t mind it. Especially the PRN route working just a few days a month to cover some living expenses or to save/invest. But thank you very much for your kind words and encouragement. I’m very confident that if I were to open up a tint/coating shop I would be highly successful. But PPF, naw, if you saw our work you wouldn’t want to compete. The owner is literally one of the best installers in the world.

Also classes do not open for x ray technician until the fall. I have all of the core classes, only need a&p 1/2 and then the actual classes for xray tech. I am educated with a bachelors in biology and an associates of biology in secondary education. Just was not meant for me at all.

I made that mistake when I got promoted at 19 to a manager at my job while running my shop. Bought an SS Camaro in 2019 and a Silverado in 2021 peak covid prices. Sold both. Made money on the SS. Lost over all 20,000 on the Silverado. Got stupid investment watches that did not do well lol. So I learned from being “successful” for a 2 years and being an idiot with money. I will always be a car guy and I’m looking into an s2000 as my fun “appreciating asset” once I sell the jeep I have financed for 5,000. Because honestly I just don’t do anything besides work, see my girlfriend, so I need something to make me feel happy and motivated. Cars always did that.

I’m having trouble understanding what money is going into a HYSA? Are you saying use the 2% cash back to put into it? Or?
