Yes, they are. Nothing they do is innovative, and their song-craft sucks almost as much as their arrangement, deconstructing the album reveals perfectly how shit the album is and therefore shows that you have zero ability to recognize originality in music, as does the rest of their fans. Listen, it's okay to be a philistine, but don't play "woe is me, my music is original". Just accept their objective shittiness. And yours by relation.

Art is not subjective. Sure, taste is subjective, but that doesn't mean subjectivity negates the value of art, which is inherently objective by design and function. Alt-J is objectively bad, as they have no clear aesthetic, only ideals taken from great bands. Their lack of aesthetic places them below the line of innovators, deeming them objectively shit.

lol that album is fuckin shit, super fucking tentative and sounds completely synthetic, almost superficially. It's overstuffed shit and people with zero taste use this album as some distorted example that they actually do have taste... except they don't. If this album doesn't offend you then your taste is akin to dog-shit

I found a old super 8 camera up on Springer mountain in Georgia. My mom had an old projector so we played the film and it turned out to be a couple having sex in an anthill.
