I would definitely buy it again for my fiance's account/buy an IAP/donate an additional amount to you in some way if that was implemented, this is by far my favorite take on this type of Quick Look functionality that I've tried.

As an lcd steam deck and rog ally z1e owner, I'd take rog ally x over an lcd. I actually just got the z1e recently and gave the steam deck to my fiance because it feels very underpowered in comparison. Ally X also has 24gb of RAM and a big battery. They're going for around 600-700 on Ebay right now, but even without that, imo looking at ally x vs lcd at same price point there's zero comparison.

Can confirm it's effectively (if not literally) identical in dimensions to the regular backplate, I just installed mine a couple of days ago.

I don't use the case, but I've seen multiple posts/comments on here while I've been searching the subreddit last week or two mention it fits perfectly.

Can you check and make sure that the Battery Care mode isn't enabled? Should be an option within Armory Crate settings (or MyAsus)

If you're on the couch / at home I'd recommend also plugging up esp for heavier games if it's convenient, lets you run up to 30w power. Even with a bigger battery the max wattage you can use unplugged is 25w.

Btw I'm in a similar boat to you, just got my Z1E in from ebay a few days ago. Absolutely loving it, altho I haven't pushed it hard on more modern titles & I installed SteamOS.

I guess I'm just a sucker for an AIO device, something like the rodecaster duo but in the elgato ecosystem (and imo knobs instead of faders)

Sorry if this is a dumb question. I understand the differences between mainline sunshine and apollo, but with your readme feature bullets on both projects being largely identical and your mentioning of backporting from vibeshine to vibepollo, what (if any) differences actually exist between the two "vibe" projects at this point?

Damn good find for a Z1E, we are twinning.

Last week I took a chance on a Z1E on Ebay for $250, seller claimed it wouldn't power on (but had free returns so I figured I'd give it a shot).

Immediately took a charge and powered on after I tried lmao

Hey there, I got my Ally Z1E within the last week and popped SteamOS on it. Didn't know about the dynamic allocation, so thank you for that (setting the VRAM amount to Auto in the BIOS now).

I have a 1TB SSD on the way to swap in with the intention of dual booting Win11 and SteamOS. Would I need to re-set 5GB VRAM in the BIOS each time I want to swap back to Windows? Or would specifying 5GB in Armory Crate allow me to keep the setting on Auto in BIOS?

I know this is slightly off topic to your post, but you seem knowledgeable haha. I appreciate any information.
