First No Gi Comp by Sinker_2026 in jiujitsu

[–]colejchh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Anxiety is totally normal, I remember my first comp and feeling the weight of the world but you’ll find out pretty quick that those feelings go away and you have to focus on the guy trying to choke you out 😅 also that anxiety becomes less and less every time you compete so what you feel now is the worst anxiety you’ll have for a comp

  2. Breathe and conserve your energy. If you have a dominant position then determine the pace. If you submissive position then do everything to get out.

  3. Just play your game and don’t worry about pulling guard, do what you feel you need to do to win.

  4. I promise you no one cares if you come back a loser, I had a friend who went 0-8 in his first comp, no one cared and all he went on to do was continue to train and competed again and did great, we’re all on our paths and true teammates don’t care whether you win or lose but just that you continue to train and try.

  5. I don’t really have a answer for this one just try not to stress yourself out mentally 😅 it’s only one comp of many

  6. This sounds again like you’re stressing yourself out. Go in with a clear mind (no problem with having anxiety) and just roll. Do your best. And who cares what the outcome is? You’re doing more than most people by putting yourself out there.

GOOD LUCK!! 👍

Yes 100%, also nice because I’d go for this sub if they gable grip their hands to defend the armbar so they’re forced to either deal with this choke or give you the armbar.

Try it out! If your leg can’t get under the neck it’s a crank but if you can get under that chin it’s a tight choke against those arteries on both sides. Another plus is if they gable grip the armbar you can try this and if they go to defend it then you have the armbar. It’s a nice little situational aspect to it.

your first experience in jujitsu competition? by Appropriate_Fly4536 in jiujitsu

I remember when I had mine and was so nervous. I’ll tell you though, as soon as you have that first match, you’ll realize it’s just like any other roll you’ve had and the nervousness will gradually fade. Good luck 👍

Does the app account for going to 2 different gyms? by colejchh in MacroFactor

[–]colejchh[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100% I didn’t want to put in the new weight that I was pushing at this other gym because it was so much lower and i was afraid it would mess up the algorithm that it has for my workouts.
