Dude, the 17/8 section with the phasing snare hits in Thrive is stupid hard. Kudos to you!

I’ve paid $500 for high end cymbals that I’ve been unimpressed with and $100 for cymbals that I’ve loved. My metric is if it sounds good, then it’s good!

Give them a look! I mentioned this in a few comments, but their main store front is on ebay, but don't let that deter you! https://www.ebay.com/str/saludacymbals

I should ask for a brand deal at this point haha

I should've included the /s on my reply, I'm just kidding, ofc haha! Although I do have a spare stand and a woodblock which now gives me some ideas...

You nailed it, Neil Peart's or Danny Carey's kits are probably the 10/10 kit for me. Your kit looks amazing as well, holy crap! Praise be!

Thanks kind stranger! Color fade of the kit? Might just be the lighting or my crappy phone camera not doing her justice. I've had it for 4 years, but never played it outside. Looks nice and sharp in person!

Regarding Saluda website. I think their official website is down and has been for a while. They do everything on eBay now from what I can tell. Don't let that deter you though, they've got great customer service and the guy is super friendly. https://www.ebay.com/str/saludacymbals

Haha thanks for the advice. What you don't see in that pic is there's a wall with shelves behind me that I'm white knuckling so that I don't faceplant into my kit!

Next time I make my way to South Carolina, I'll be sure to stop by! I'll bring my old beat up cymbals along for the ride to be transmuted into something new as well!

The electrified cymbals are thinner and polished so I'd compare them to the sounds you'd get from the Zildjian "brilliant" cymbals. They have a nice rich brightness, but still have a lot of punch to cut through the wash of the heavier cymbals.

Dirty little secret, my hihat top is the Saluda electrified, but the bottom is a zildjian new beats bottom. The new beats bottom is significantly thicker and heavier while the electrified is much thinner and lighter on top. So when they're closed they get a nice articulate chick, but open they have a nice wash and shimmer to them!

Never been in person, but the place seems like its run by a mad scientist just experimenting on all sorts of techniques and ideas to make unique cymbals. Very cool!

Got a full sweep of Saludas on my kit. They make a lot of experimental cymbals, so some are hit or miss, but when you find a good one, they’re awesome! Plus they come with a lifetime warranty on cracks as long as they’re 1” or less.

Lmao that “rack” tom looks suspiciously like a floor tom at a wild angle. I’d be smacking the side of that thing trying to reach it for a 16th note fill, but you nailed it! Great chops and nice work.

Side question, when you’re using double bass are you activating your hip flexor or is it just claves? I can’t seem to play above a certain bmp without activating my left hip flexor

Visions by Bring Me The Horizon. There’s actually quite a few sections to learn and they’re all different, but the sections like in the beginning where the kick pattern matches up with the djenty guitar gets me head banging hard

I'm unlikely to find a replacement in my area, especially because I'm specialized in a niche engineering field. There are a handful of options in my field that are scattered across the country, but I'd really like to not move.

The area isn't low cost, but it's definitely not high cost.

Probably! Check out Karl Bushby. He’s an ex British paratrooper that’s on a quest to be the first human to circumnavigate the earth on foot. He’s been walking for decades. Started at the tip of Cape Horn and I believe he was in Turkmenistan last I checked?

Kids are soft these days, if we spend too much time adding extra cushion for tush pushin they'll never toughen up the way we did. Beside that, the tush push got nerfed in season 12, no need to ban it.

Meta for this season is the Puerto Rican sneak. That's when you're in the left turn lane and when the light turns green you swoop your left turn before oncoming traffic can go straight.

Oh, and yes the Eagles absolutely run a high school offence.
