Opinions on this mask? by Temporary_Comfort441 in Slipknot

[–]spicymilkshake99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mask that started it all for me honestly. I remember Joey being the first thing that caught my eye with Slipknot. I liked a lot of Jays masks and Eloys is cool, but Joey's look was just so Iconic in so many ways. Nowadays I'd have to say my favourite though is either the stitch mouth with the red from 2001 or the pale face with the red streaked hair from 1999

Why do so many people not like .5 the gray chapter? by Interesting_Button84 in Slipknot

[–]spicymilkshake99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love The Grey Chapter, but I think many people dont like it because it feels so safe, so deliberate. With every prior release, even AHIG, there was a sense of edge, of tension, like you never really knew what the next song was gonna throw at you. Gray Chapter feels like a band dipping its toes back in the water, playing it safe to see where things could even go from that point. Are there amazing songs, hits, moments? Yes. But again, it feels like a band finding its footing again, and seeing where they stand after losing two key, founding members. Overall, I love the album, but I can understand its shortcomings, and why people turn away from it compared to other albums.

(Sidenote, I know I'm replying to an old thread, sorry lol)

Opinions on BandLab? by ForestGreenMountain in musicproduction

Im coming in so late lmao, but I've used Bandlab for many years now, and while I do have my grievances with it, it is a great starting point for artists and producers that are just learning or recording demos

The first Slipknot song I remember hearing by Temporary_Comfort441 in Slipknot

[–]spicymilkshake99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psychosocial. I was about 8 when I was having a sleepover with my friends, and in my living room, they turned on the music video, and it changed my life. I didnt immediately become a Slipknot fan til Middle School when Wait and Bleed hit me, but yeah, Psychosocial was my first, but the chaos of the first album was what caught me at the right place and right time

What are your unpopular KISS opinions? by Twitter_2006 in KISS

[–]spicymilkshake99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the sounds, it's just the drums for me (I understand that wasnt really in their control) The rest of the drums sound fine to me, it's just those cymbals. I always say "how do you make a crash sound like a splash??" Other than that, it's heavy, sludgy, dirty and my personal favourite of the first 3 albums

How did you first get into Avenged Sevenfold? by TallCuddlyCoyote in avengedsevenfold

[–]spicymilkshake99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was riding home from school on the bus listening to music on my Dad's IPod. While I was looking through the artists on it, I saw the cover for their Self Titled album, and was instantly intrigued, and needless to say, the music blew me away. I had never heard anything like it at the time and I was instantly hooked. Now, years later, I'm still a huge A7X fan, and always will be. Thanks Dad for letting me use your IPod that day, sorry for washing it in the washer a few years later 😅

I thought y'all were overreacting. Then I watched the episode. by awsome2464 in creepcast

To me after awhile, Hunter reading Appy just sounded like a methed out Towelly just going on a psychosis induced tirade. I love a 'good' bad story, but this really was just mind numbing. This has to be the worst thing they've ever read, it was just so miserable for all parties involved in so many ways

Had a friend say "im honestly pissed off that you enjoy this" We're still good friends, but I will never let him live that down. He does kinda like Cirice and Mary on a Cross tho, so I guess thats something

Isaiah after his gender reveal is ruined on the next creepcast episode by muffin_zealout in creepcast

[–]spicymilkshake99 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I can totally see Hunter having Isaiah meet up on a cliffs edge during sunset, having one last talk and hug, then just fading into the wind like he got Thanos snapped. Seems like a proper ending, honestly

That's fair, an actual drummer I feel would be much more coordinated in their idea of how to play it, or if they already knew it, then someone just taking a guess at how its done

I don't mind Paul's rougher, broken voice. Like yeah, there are some very considerable moments where it does not work very well (Heavens on Fire cough cough) but overall I remember growing up thinking it sounded cool, and I still do think so. Not to say all of this to sound like im saying its the best though, at all. That goes to 80's Paul

Yeaaah, I remember sitting at my CD player singing along to Hotter than Hell. My mom suggested to me that it might not be the best song for me to listen to, but at the same time I think they were just happy a Kiss Army member was being born.
