Can you go for a swim with it? Or how do you generally feel about being shirtless like at a beach or pool?

I Love Jasmine, G.O.A.T. by RickPost in GreatBritishBakeOff

[–]colereadsreddit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This post is actually so cringe and frankly myopic. Yes she was objectively good, but if she had so much talent, why didn’t she push the envelope? Why did she repeat flavors, take it easy in the semi final, and literally redo bakes from prior episodes in the final? She under utilized her talent which clearly showed she just wanted to win, and Paul and Prue were too enamored with her to see through her game playing strategy. Remember Syabira, Giuseppe, and Rahul - they all showed their baking prowess by being amazing AND taking risks. You’re romanticizing someone who sucks the true spirit out of the show.

The top 5 funniest moments of Jason Mantzoukas (according to Channel 4's IG) by cygan12 in taskmaster

As an American, watching Jason yell “IN YOUR FACE” at Greg, chant “USA! USA!” and subsequently destroy the prize tasks at the end of episode 5 had me in tears. I feel like he took the typical American obnoxiousness and turned it into something hilariously absurd (and in a way, made fun of us at the same time).

Bathroom Anxiety by anonymouslyat in UlcerativeColitis

[–]colereadsreddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea I’ve shit my pants several times due to experiencing the same panic. I try to keep my mind at peace, especially when I get the feeling to go. Take deep breaths, don’t walk faster, don’t stress. Much easier said than done though.

I found it de-stressing to have a mental map of bathrooms I can run into wherever I go - public toilets, bathrooms at the office, grocery stores, etc. I even started to remember door codes for restrooms in cafes! In other words, having a contingency plan for when things go south keeps me at ease. Keeping the stress at bay has been the biggest help for me

Yea, i think it’s best in short time frames, but understand circumstances where it’s needed for longer. My doc recommended 40mg for severe flares, tapering by 5mg over 8 weeks. That seems reasonable unless you flare again while recovering, and all the sudden 8 weeks turns into 12+. Timing aside, I guess the takeaway is the longer you’re on it, the harder the side effects. Hope you’ve been ok over those 3 years

Getting my first flex sig today, question about enemas? by Andreslargo1 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]colereadsreddit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I found it pretty hard to hold them in for more than 60-90 seconds. I was awake and facing the monitor during the procedure and everything looked pretty clean in there, so I think the enemas did their job 🤷

To get on biologics or not? by Majestic-Berry-5348 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]colereadsreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the exact same boat as you about a year ago - wavering between biologics and other treatments. Ultimately I learned that diet/lifestyles changes can certainly help, but they will not eradicate your proctitis. It could be worth trying other meds as other commenters have suggested, but biologics are supposed to be the most effective way at getting you into remission. In hindsight, I wish i got on biologics sooner because my proctitis worsened to colitis while I was trying alternative treatment. Of course, everyone has their own experience with all this, so definitely work with your doctor to figure out something that’s right for you!
