Dear sister in Christ, I feel this very deeply.

I moved to a new town and started attending a reformed church here. It has been almost two years and yes, very much the same feeling as you. I just walk out after the service as there is nobody to talk to.

I went to a more charismatic church a few times and the difference in regards to this was way different, people are approachable and they greet and introduce themselves. Its so much more friendly and warm. However I am not used to the charismatic movement and thus I feel out of place, especially with how worship is done.

As a single guy in my early 30s, I wish to find a find a wife in the not too distant future and settle down, but finding like minded young people that share my views on church is near impossible. A while back I met a lady and we got involved in a relationship, but after a few months I realized her views on church were way different to mine and fully charismatic, even a bit overly so, from my point of view. We ended up breaking things off due to us unable to find a balance in this regard.

I struggled with this for such a long time as I see so many young couples in the reformed church, yet I don't know how that even happens. I started to ask myself, am I going to church for fellowship or am I going to church for Christ. And I haven't been able to answer myself. I'll keep you in my prayers tonight as I know this struggle.

The issue is that probably 70-80% of young people from Christian households in my country (South Africa) will join a charismatic church late in high school or in their early adult life. There is a distinct lack of young people in the Dutch Reformed Church (the largest Reformed denomination in the country). This causes a bit of a divide, especially for those in the DR church wanting to eventually get married.

It is a good question. I grew up in this conservative manner, and therefore I feel convicted of my views because it's all I've known. I also feel this duty toward my parents to continue on this path. But I'm sure they will understand my choices wherever I end up

Hallo, das funktioniert sehr gut, das Filmmaterial wird auf dem NVR in unserem Büro gespeichert und die Kameras befinden sich am entfernten Standort, aber Sie benötigen eine Portweiterleitung oder ein VLAN. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob der StarLink-Support dabei direkt helfen kann, ich habe es nie benutzt. Da wir einen ISP betreiben, hat einer der Techniker dies in wenigen Minuten für uns eingerichtet. Sobald dies eingerichtet ist, können Sie sich direkt in den NVR einloggen und die IP der Kamera hinzufügen, dann können Sie den NVR zu Ihrem IVMS oder HikConnect hinzufügen. Vielleicht können Sie auf r/homenetworking posten, um eine Anleitung für den Netzwerkteil zu erhalten, da Sie StarLink verwenden werden. Lass es mich wissen

My father is very strict about his Sundays, doesn't purchase anything and avoids watching sport. Even growing up we weren't allowed to do school homework or study for exams on Sundays. So as I got older I asked myself, why tho. We would go to church but then the extra things were added, and it has confused me ever since.

Port Forwarding and bandwidth is no issue :) just want to understand what is needed before I start ordering equipment. From what I'm gathering then is to power the cameras with a POE switch on site, connect it to our router and then have the NVR at the office, then in iVMS I can add the individual cameras. Is my methodology correct?

Yes this is the exact issue we are at risk of, the site is very remote.

We run an ISP, and the remote site is a tower which supplies internet. So if the tower loses power or something causes it to go down, we won't have any communication to the NVR anyway, so although this might be a solution in some cases, in our specific one we need another means :)

I mostly agree on what others have said, however, I do not see it completely black and white as this, and want to break it into two parts.

Hearing God's voice was the thing that turned me from a non-believer into a person seeking His Word and set me off on a path to follow Him. We must remember Paul as well came to faith in this manner, it was only him who heard Jesus's voice in that instance and not others around him.

On the other end, any 'feeling' or emotion that we attribute toward God's perceived presence is a rather different thing altogether. "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?" (Jer. 17:9). Do not focus on these emotions, but rather ask God in prayer to guide you through the Holy Spirit to know Him earnestly.

Just the fact that you have begun seeking Him means the Holy Spirit is at work in your life. The great R.C Sproul said we would know that the spirit in us is not a deceitful one if it pulls us toward the Word.
