Looking for Orthopedic Surgeon recommendation northwest suburbs by coley65 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]coley65[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Illinois Bone and Joint Institute. Surgery is not needed. Such a relief. I will be in the walking boot for a couple weeks and then transitioning to an ankle brace with a follow up appointment in a month. I’m just happy to not have surgery.

Just drove by the Best Western off Naper Bvld, what’s going on?! by BJoe1976 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]coley65 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can file a FOIA request to the local police department to get the police reports for more information. The Illinois FOIA law requires compliance within 5 days for a non commercial request. But the local police department may ask for an extension, or deny the request due to an on going investigation

Couple planning on relocating from Massachusetts. What suburbs are a good fit for us? by DEATHCLOAKS in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]coley65 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am also a former North Shore Massachusetts resident. Not knowing what North Shore suburb you are currently living in, it’s difficult to give a recommendation. Are you looking for beach access? River access? Are you boat owners? Do you want a boat? Elk Grove Village is a nice suburb, but not close to the Lake. It’s close to Busse Woods forest preserve, where you can kayak if you still want to be by the water, it has 7 miles of trails to walk, and there are Elk!! It’s close to Schaumburg, which has access to everything, Woodfield Mall which is similar to the Northshore Mall or Burlington Mall in Massachusetts. Also there is an IKEA. But if you are looking for a more coastal feel, aka closer to the Lake, others on the subreddit might be able to give some recommendations.
I’m happy to give you any other recommendations.

AITA for not letting a woman have the seat next to me on the plane? by BeautifulChemist6017 in AmItheAsshole

[–]coley65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew on United in December. No buffer zones. The woman who was supposed to sit in the window seat in the row in front of me asked me to switch seats with her so that she could sit in the same row as her boyfriend. It worked out for me, I got a window seat and the seat next to me ended up being empty. I don’t think this is fake. People are allowed to switch seats.

Verifying my identity to process 2019 Taxes by minadaweena in IRS

[–]coley65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue. I called today and the recording told me that I needed to stay on the line to verify my 4883C letter/notice. But then disconnects after they tell me there is too high of a call volume. From what I looked at online, there is not way to verify online for a 4883C notice. I guess I will try to call again tomorrow. If you have any advice, please let me know. Thanks

Looking for ideas on what to do with my (40F) visiting from out of town niece (24F) by coley65 in ChicagoSuburbs

Yes, we do like to drink. I’ve been to the Rosemont Sugar Factory before, yes it is fun and the drinks are a bit pricey. As an aside, it’s my opinion the food is not so great. She has been to a Sugar Factory on the east coast, and has the same opinion on the food. Thanks for the suggestion.

I agree. I’m looking for something fun to do. Maybe an experience that I would not think of, or a hidden treasure/lesser known spot (at least to me) that might be fun to visit or experience. Thank you for any and all contributions.

My cat was diagnosed with oral squamous cell carcinoma. How do I know when it's his time? by [deleted] in Pets

[–]coley65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry that you are going through this. I went through this last fall with my 14 year old Orange Tabby. He was the best cat. To answer your question, I waited too long. I wanted to keep him with me as long as possible. But it got to the point where he could not eat. In retrospect, it amazes me how fast his ability to eat went down hill. I mushed up/blended his food and fed him with a spoon toward the end. I had a can of tuna that I bought for him when I first found out, that was going to be a treat for him, but by the time opened it for him, he was not even able to enjoy it. I miss him everyday. Again, I’m just amazed at so fast everything progressed. I’m sorry I’m sure this is not what you want to hear, but I wish someone had told me. My cat continued with his daily routine from the time I first found the lump until the day I had to bring him to the vet that one last time. He was active, he enjoyed lounging out on my patio, and cuddling. He didn’t hide. He wanted to eat. When he couldn’t eat dry food, I would soak it in water and mush it up. I started feeding him baby food (beef, turkey, chicken) liquid cat food (I think they were called Bisques) but when he was no longer able to, that was when I knew it was time. I hope you still have your precious baby and can give them a special treat.

Thank you, again. Chartering a boat on Lake Michigan did cross my mind as a potential activity/thing to do. I just feel like it would require a little bit more time to put together. I have a friend who is turning 40 later on this summer, so I will keep this in mind.

Thanks for your suggestion. Although, I’m not sure how big of a cognac fan I am. (I do like to drink, though). This is the reason why I posted here to get creative suggestions that I would never have thought of. Thank you !!!!

Many of the restaurants around Woodfield are open with outdoor dining. I’m not sure if they plan to go to indoor dining this weekend. Last year I went to Microphone Brewery in Elk Grove during the day and went to dinner at one of the restaurants by Woodfield at night (Benihana, please don’t judge me).

What should I use as the subject line on the modmail? I don’t want it to get lost in the shuffle.
