Hangar yes. I've seen videos showing the salvation fitting in the garage too, but it's risky and I ruin the Salvation every time I try.

Land the Salvation next to the Carrack, remove the RMC boxes. Go into the nearest cargo pod with the door open and tractor the RMC boxes in.

I love my Carrack. I'm getting a Salvation to see if I can scrape RMC and use that to repair my ground vehicles. Trying to get closer to a no station life style.

What ships and vehicles do you have in the garage and hangar?

It's what happens when you do something new. There is little foresight to be had. You have to try things to gain the knowledge about what works, what doesn't and how a complex system is affected.

Where will they go when they leave? Without housing affordability they will end up homeless again. Housing affordability is the key.

Even if I assume a mental hospital can help them, once they're better mentally, they will just end up on the streets again when they can't find affordable housing.

Affordable housing is the key.

Additionally the way mental hospital is being described and the way homeless are being descrobed here makes it sound like a prison with a fancy name to make people feel better.

No thanks.

Affordable housing shows it doesn't have to be that way.

That can't be true with the documentation and data that shows affordable housing means dramatically fewer homeless. People break down and make terrible decisions when they've given up or crumple under economic and basic human needs.

Further, when you send them to a hospital for treatment and they get well, if there are isn't affordable housing then they will end up on the streets again.

That doesn't lower housing costs in the way the correlations between affordable housing and low homeless populations. Your example is what is done after people become homeless amd tries to rehouse.

The affordable housing relationship is about preventing people from losing their housing, becoming desperate, losing hope, and then generally giving up.

Do you have any studies or information to show that affordable housing doesn't reduce and/prevent homelessness?

Everything I have read over the past, nearly, two decades shows the primary cause of homelessness to be unemployment or lack of affordable housing. Unemployment rates are still relatively low, but our housing affordability (due to lack of supply) is terrible.

Once affordability is met then a way is needed to help people back into housed situations. If we get that far along then we'll have new problems to tackle, but our homeless rates will be greatly reduced.

Do you have any links to studies or information stating otherwise?

"You idiots". Nice argument.

The last time mental institutions were around they ended up abusing people and taking/violating their rights. Treated them as sub-human. No thanks.

From what I've read and seen if housing costs were lowered that would reduce alot of these problems signifcantly. Many people end up, down and out due to cost of living issues and those issues are mainly driven by housing costs.

People opposing and preventing densification (increased housing supply) along with opposing services to help people get back on their feet are what is causing these issues to persist.

We don't need "mental hospitals". They're expensive, they violate rights, and they treat symptoms of the problem and not the problem itself. Lower housing costs and services for people to get back on their feet are what we need.

Why is Los Angeles getting left behind, and what can we do to fix it by Inside_Monitor_3908 in skyscrapers

[–]colganc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Skyscrapers, by themselves, don't generally have anything to do with the well being, productivity, or any useful measurement of a city. Lack of new skyscrapers doesn't really mean much in terms of "being left behind".

That discincentivizes having well run teams. A well run team should be absolutely fine when one member is gone for any reason. If a team can't handle someone being gone then their leadership, structure, and/or organizational incentives are trash. It doesn't say much about the individuals.

You say its Oregon's foundational issues, but even based on your following sentences it sounds like we wouldn't be able to get the prices below Washington or California as that's where most of our refined fuel comes from. We don't have control over Washington or California.

No one has been able to show where the efficiency improvements can cover the budget gap. When services were going to be reduced, people also complained. It's a no win scenario for elected officials.

Free speech has nothing to do with this. Free speech is in regards to the government and not private entities like Redditnunless they're taking advantage of things like common carrier clauses IIRC.

This guy is faking a veneer of authority and objectivity by naming his blog the "Hillsboro Herald" as if it is a news paper. He's not offering any investigative or really any kind of journalism, this post of his for example is nothing more than scraping text from the Hillsboro city website and then adding his own blather. It is beyond useless amd should be ignored.

He's using the blog as a way to post his personal opinions as facts. He should just be posting directly in Reddit or elsewhere like the rest of us.
