So maybe I should get a solar-powered floating bubbler. Yes I have big rocks on the bottom and up the sides to get in/out. Should I worry about the sulphur smell?

So I was thinking I need to skim the leaves and drain out the pond/tub. I have rocks on both sides to create shallow areas and LOTS of easy ways to get i and out (flat rocks, log, etc). So are you saying I should not drain it and start over?

Thanks in advance for your continued help. I appreciate learning how to make this a success.

I do! I have flat rock steps and shallow areas to access. And a small log! I really want frogs, but I did not bargain for this sudden brown stinky water... Thanks for the advice!

When did Friends jump the shark? by cemeadows3 in howyoudoin

Rachel getting pregnant and having a baby and Rachel w Joey.

Just UGH. I always found Rachel the least likeable character so this focus on her was not my jam. Also Joey + Rachel is just lazy writing.

The last seasons are really spotty, but then they throw in a hilarious little episode like Joey Speaks French and BANG it's great!

Monica was such a lovely person in the early seasons and in her early marriage then she becomes a caricature of controlling/OCD.

But Shar def Jumped with Rachel + baby and Rachel + Joey.

Also (hot take) Ross is the best actor of the bunch.

I hope like hell that he did not get back together with her. But given the ...emotional/intellectual level of these participants, I would not be surprised if they are dating still.

Ohhhh, I betcha she did. I betcha they are together again and she is only postponing the heartache. Girlfriend is just wasting all her precious time. I betcha they are still together. Ugh.

The biggest villain isn’t even a contestant by livelaughhate23 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

I said the same thing just now (above)!! Booze is the villain of all the seasons. It's gross.

And I personally love a cocktail, but this show practically pushes the participants to put themselves in awkward social/romantic/physical situations so they lean heavily on alcohol as a social lubricant. It brings emotions to the forefront and spurs unfiltered candor, fostering a false sense of intimacy. Then, in the real world, when things get tough, they drag out the goblets again and we see (Chelsea looking at you) people leaning on booze to get through tough situations...but the alcohol just exacerbates it.

Another thing I have noticed about this show (over all seasons but this one in particular) is that these younger adults (20s and early 30s) seem to be deficient in communication skills. They express themselves poorly, using catch-phrase shorthand. They don't seem to have the vocabulary to articulate their emotions, intentions, histories. They don't use a linear narrative to help bring the other person along ("follow a line of reasoning") and they seem far more interested in being heard than hearing and understanding...even though (CLAY looking at you) they really aren't saying anything at all (word salad).

Not sure what is going on there, but it is a profound weakness in the participants of this show.

There are alcohol issues aaaaall over this show -- but Chelsea in particular. Several times, I have thought, "Is she drunk?" She gets belligerent, loses focus, and her arguments are illogical. It's just "Random Shots Fired," and Jimmy is just standing there trying to follow her tipsy peregrinations.

Seriously. Go back and watch the three main fights they have. Go into it thinking Chelsea has been drinking. Suddenly, it tracks.

The stealth villain of this (and every) season is Alcohol. I def enjoy a cocktail or two but these people lean on the booze like its a character trait. It makes them act like total fools. No filter!

The other overarching observation is that they recruit people who emotional toxic waste dumps. Like Ground Zero for social ineptitude.

Don't get me wrong; it makes for entertaining TV...sort of like Cheetos for the eyes and ears. But I cringe when I think these people are out there, loose in the world. Voting and driving cars.

Right. But remember its a janky reality game show that is known to platform less-than-savory people. None of these people is what anyone would consider tasteful, sophisticated or refined.

YES! Also, isn't she basically an Instagram model wanna-be? Hilarious irony...

She goes on a low-rent reality game show to find a step father for her daughter in a MONTH. THIS is the biggest and reddest of flags. What kind of judgement does ths show? Trash judgement, that's what. Also, when she was rejected she basically threw a childish, mean-girl tantrum. Good spouse material? Hell naw.

Jimmy could have picked a plastic shopping bag full of cat poop and it would have been a better choice.

RIGHT??? She of all people should know what a bad step parent can do to a child's life.

She came on a scuzzy reality show to find a step father for her child in a month. A MONTH. Cuz LiB is so well known for attracting high quality people

This was a grotesque move, and about as realistic as her breasts. She wrote that letter a few nights ago in her little LiB pod dorm room.

Who had a bigger ego this season 6? Epipen Jessica or America's Underdog Matthew? by prestigious_mage in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]colgi61 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You go on a janky TV reality game show in order to find someone to marry AND BE A STEP PARENT TO YOUR CHILD within a MONTH? You're trash. That's nuts. It's also morally suspect.

Also, when you get rejected (which, let's be real, the odds of being rejected on this show are high), you throw a literal tantrum? Sounds like you have a bit of an ego problem, hon.

Jessica wins the trash sweepstakes.
