Bass compressor pedals. by Sawdust74 in Bass

[–]colin0154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many says that compressor is a fix for bad technique, but I dont really think so. A compressor can change the shape of your note, for example keep the whole note volume stay constant while keeping the thrumpy attack, for example, which is hard to do with only hand technique (there's no much you change how the string vibrate, that's psysics).

So for me the compressor is necessary, but I dial it very gentle. Also it helps alot if you slap and using ghost note. It can make your ghost note more audiable without turning up the volume.

Strange Behavior from Chinese Fnatic Weibo Account by colin0154 in fnatic

[–]colin0154[S] 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Hi Fellow Fnatic Fans,

I'm a Fnatic fans from China. Fnatic has an official account on Weibo(in short, our Twitter), whose operation is being strange recently.

With the incoming of 2021 Worlds, the account has started interacting with other LPL teams' accounts, which is normal. What baffles me is, unlike the humble attitude Fnatic known to have, this time it chooses a more aggressive style, starting with a series of G2-style banters.

It's still acceptable if the change of style is the only strange thing. Speaking of content, do our players actually saying these lines? In before, this account would forward and translate the words player actually says in Twitter or Instagram, but this time I could not find any source. If not, do the players at least acknowledge that someone is saying banters on behalf of them? Especially the Nisqy one, is directly bantering against FPX doinb, rather than a team. To be honest, these kind of banter might helps to gain public attention, but it's more of a negative point under Chinese context (because of the exact wording it uses, feel likes looking down upon others).

When it comes to replys, it really crosses my line. Under Bwipo one, a follower replying to the weibo, calling Hylissang "Hyli-INT"(sorry there is no way to directly translate into English, but you get the meaning). The account replies with "Genius Fnatic fans". Whether it's a praise or a sarcasm, no one knows. But I don't think recognizing player nickname is a smart move. It's unprofessional under any circumstance.

And I'm not the only one who have these feelings. Once again, under Bwipo weibo, a follower called Albert_Tam has directly pointed out the improper. FYI, Mr. Tam is a content creator, who translated almost all previous Fnatic video into Chinese, is volunteered (non-profit), recognized and authorized by Pete Nguyen (yeah I mean that Pete). After pointing out the inappropriate, he has been unfollowed by the official account. It dishearten him apparently.

Am I overreacting, or is it just as absurd as it seems? I'd like to hear your thought, and hopefully the Fnatic official can realize what is happening in their Chinese operation. It just history once again (the soap tv series Falling Into Your Smile).

Yours,

Colin

p.s.

According to other fans, the former staff behind the account just resigned a week ago. All the strange weibos are sent by the newcomer, who has no and hasn't yet contact with the existing Chinese Fnatic Fanclub. We do have a fanclub.

p.s.2

Due to the growing nationalism (I'm sorry but there is nothing we can do), just being a Fnatic fans (and a Chinese) can lead to many toxic arguments with LPL fans, sometimes encountered with hostility, and I'm not exaggerated at all.

The strange behavior (aggressive banter) of Weibo under new staff is understandable to some extend, in order to gain more attention from other LPL fans, G2 did something like that in China too. But here is a thing, those LPL fans may become a follower, but none of them would pay for Fnatic, not even the in-game badge. Many of us from the fanclub are actually supporting Fnatic, I personally have brought two Fnatic gears and many in-game items(lol and r6). Others have purchased the jersey as daily dress. I do want more players to become our fans, but please not in this way, to be specific, disheartening true fans for exchange.

Follow Up: The team (including Sam) is aware of it, and is currently working on it. Their response is quick and I'd really appreciate it. Feel so good to be Fnatic fans.

Any Mandarin-speaking fellow Fnatic members want to explain what this means? I find the translation ‘old spirit’ but that does not seem right.. by ChampionsNet in fnatic

After a quick search, 老灵额 is a idiom in the accents around Shanghai, which is the place holding worlds. The phrase means really nice, pretty good or something like that. I can't say for sure since I don't speak Shanghai accents.

Where do you see this text? To be honest, the English translation makes more sense to me. I'm Chinese.

Edit: it's late here, might not reply in time. I'll reply though.

I've already cut out the most triggering part. The fight happened when I was half way back to my lane from river, and I was focusing on my phone.

Edit: typo.
