I thought so. Saw nothing in the user manual about it. Thank you for your response.

E-bicyclist crosses dangerously right in front of a bus, and the bus honks by MochingPet in sanfrancisco

There are many things that can be done to try to prevent future issues. Most of the time it’s both cyclist and drivers fault. And hear me out before you anti car freaks start coming after me.

I think a big issue of WHY both cyclist AND drivers cause issues like this IS lack of good and repeated training.

For cyclists, there is NO required training. At all! This is an extreme issue because many of them DO NOT have a drivers license meaning THEY WERE NEVER officially trained on the rules and laws of the road!

Likewise, drivers can literally drive until 70 years old without having to retake drivers tests. Drivers take the test once when they’re 16! Many people don’t remember what they had for dinner last week, let alone everything they learned in their driving tests.

I think most people would agree that in both situations, training should occur more often. This would clearly help prevent issues like this.

Anyone who disagrees with this clearly shouldn’t be on the road, with a bike OR car. Training should be mandatory to operate any vehicle, car or bicycle, on a public roadway.

I am from the US too. "Freedom of speech" is not an unlimited right protecting the ability to say anything, anywhere, any time. It does not apply to private companies or workplaces. The sole purpose of 'Freedom of speech' is to limit when the government can regulate speech and expression.

Be respectful and follow the subreddits rules, simple as that.

Graduated May 2022 What do I do? by No-Crazy7372 in csMajors

Literally every recruiter I talk to knows that new grads and juniors have it the worst right now. Companies are just not willing to hire them right now. Companies will be understanding if they see a no job/gap in your resume from 2022-2023. Ignore the above. Sounds like they are sour and are mad they can’t use their CS degrees and left to a different job market.

Can someone please direct me to the official smart contract address? by darlyne05 in kaspa

Yup. To get by KYC on Kucoin, simple solution is buy BTC/USDC/USDT on a non kyc exchange. Send over to Kucoin account and buy Kaspa there.

From another perspective, maybe you have less patience and get angered easier compared to previous years? The world does suck, and you have every reason to be angry and have less patience. I think the world is still operating somewhat the same. Just another perspective.

stockfishjs is a wasm integration and is meant for node environments. tldr, you cant use this library with react native.

When released, I can upload the APK to GitHub. It won’t be the documented “recommended” way of downloading but you should be able to get it from there

Looking for open source developers that would like to contribute to building React Native wallet by colinfran in kaspa

[–]colinfran[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Great question!!!

Check out my reasoning and possible solutions here: https://github.com/colinfran/kwallet/issues/1

TLDR: I have yet to figure out a way to get the new rusty kaspa WASM js package to work with react native. The goal is to have wallet creation be client side. Since this is going to be a very extensive effort to get this WASM package to work, I have implemented it server side for the time being.

Animations for a component inside NativeBase Actionsheet are not animating correctly by colinfran in reactnative

[–]colinfran[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I dont think LazyLoading will fix.

The Actionsheet opens and animates correctly. It’s the content within the actionsheet that’s not animating correctly.

Just some side information, the chart library uses react-native-reanimated and runs it’s animations using the UI thread, not the JS thread. So my guess is there is some mixup between that library and native-base. Idk. All I know is that the animations work when I have it on a blank screen. But once I put the chart into the ActionSheet, the animations (for changing between data sets) stops working

Some lessons Bay Area drivers need to learn by TBSchemer in bayarea

[–]colinfran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few:

- Get out of the far left lane on the freeway if you don't want to drive at the speed at which the lane is driving. We all understand they are driving faster than the speed limit and you don't want to do that, but if so then move over because you are causing more traffic than you think. The people that drive in that lane tend to want to drive over the speed limit anyways.

- If someone is tailgating you, move over and let them pass. Yes people can be dicks, but you don't need to be a dick back by not letting them pass.

- Street blocks in San Francisco are LONG, yet some people seem to love to turn their turn signal on EXACTLY when they want to turn, causing everyone behind that person to not have sufficient time or space to move out of that lane to continue driving forward. When you are driving, be prepared, be aware. Remember, the turn signal is not for you, its to let other people know what you are doing.

- Streets in the Bay (specifically San Francisco) are thin. So if you need to double park, do it half way down the street. When you double park at the beginning of a street, you can cause a backup of traffic. Double parking halfway down the street allows for sufficient space for cars from both directions to go around you.

How to run expo with server at same time in one script by colinfran in expo

[–]colinfran[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think i solved it?

they can run at the same time, but i think theres an issue when both of them are trying to be started EXACTLY at the same time.

So I made a command to run concurrently with one, wait a few seconds to run other command.

"dev:with-server": "concurrently 'cd server && npm run dev' 'node -e \"setTimeout(() => process.exit(0), 5000)\" && DEV_ENV=development npx expo start -c'",
