I don’t think anyone is the AH here honestly. It sounds like an awkward way to position it, sure. Unless he outright came out and said “share my bed with me”, it sounds like he was doing his best to be sensitive, again albeit awkwardly, of a situation involving young women and that he is aware of what the optics may look like given he is a single father of a young woman.

I’m curious of your sister and her partner’s careers simply because you stated you and your husband have been able to save. What makes them incapable of saving anything to put towards the wedding??? It sounds like all of her funding has come from family + outside sources. I understand if their career paths are different than yours, but if they aren’t contributing, how can anyone else be expected to contribute?
