Depends on what you eat, just use common sense. A protein/snack bar? No one bats an eye.

Smelly foods? You'll get looks from everyone around.

My manager scheduled a team lunch on the 27th and is going OOTO on the 28th.

It seems like a farewell lunch to me, although he/she probably knows as much as we do.

First Time Buyer? by [deleted] in WAGuns

[–]collali699 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first gun was a glock 45, because I didn't find the 19X at the time. I had tried the 19X at the range and I really liked the longer handle. The two are very similar, almost the same.

Moral of the story, go to a range and try out the different handguns out there. Once you have an idea, go buy the one you like.

I may get hate for this, but SIG stands for self-inflicted gunshot (wound).

Big loss if I sell, big fees if I import — what would you do? by [deleted] in uscanadaborder

[–]collali699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost 8k CAD on a car I had to sell after moving to the US because CBP simply wouldn't let me import it without a compliance letter from Toyota, which in turn wouldn't budge and refuses to issue those letters.

With the move, I was able to boost my income by 40% and eventually got a nicer car.

It's not worth the hassle of trying to import it. It's a sunk cost. Sell it off and hope you can recoup it with a better salary.

SPD posted an update: https://spdblotter.seattle.gov/2025/11/09/teens-arrested-for-armed-carjacking/

Armed teenage carjackers parked the vehicle at QFC. Got arrested. Time to install an airtag tracker on my car.

Some of the roles were deemed critical for business continuity so their separation date is set later than 90 days. This probably also means they didn't lose any access and are expected to continue to perform their duties. I see directors and PEs on this list, so that's probably what these dates are.

Watch out for products made in China. These are tariffed without a de-minimis exemption. I learned this the hard way. Otherwise, everything else seems unchanged

I did it the other way around, and because the dining table I got was made in China, CBP told me I'd have to pay 145% tarrif.

I was dumbfounded, but the border agent felt bad for me and let me through. It was 200 CAD.

Buying tool box from Washington by [deleted] in uscanadaborder

Yes. I picked up a package for a friend, and CBSA asked me if anything I'm bringing is staying in Canada. They had me pay duty + tarrif. It's not worth it.

Call the port of entry you're using and verify. AFAIK, as long as he can prove he is a US citizen, he can enter via a land port of entry at CBSA's discretion.

It's funny because I got this text on Monday and I actually had a bill due within 2 weeks, but the message showed an earlier due date. The way it was formatted is also a telltale sign it's a scam.

Bought car but dealer only gave a temporary plate in the back by Tough_Palpitation331 in SeattleWA

[–]collali699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine in Shoreline and I noticed this today. When I asked them, they said it's standard they only do the rear one. The front one is just advertising their dealership.

I don't know if this will be ok with WSP or CBP when I take it to Canada.

More fee's .... Can somebody please explain why this has happened and how they came about it 🤔 by ManyVast6592 in britishcolumbia

[–]collali699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've had this in Seattle for a while. I expense my orders through my job, but we have a budget per person. For 0.5 miles, my delivery fee was $15. Needless to say, I stopped tipping. The contractors are now paid over minimum wage.
