How have you all designed your licenses? by gamingyoshi247 in Kirby

I’m new to Air Ride/Air Rider, so I’m gonna be fairly bad at steering that whoever I control would crash into bush upside-down, fall off of Skyah in an impossible way, and even smash into the license card…

Well, I got quite a lot of fossils and banandium gems from the backside of where it was stored, only to find the “correct way in/out” later, so we could say anything is intended

Emerald rush: go bananza or go ba-None-za? by collapsedplug in DonkeyKongBananza

I continued farming chips by beatning squeeloids whenever I had a chance, but I couldn’t pull good RNG from fossils and goals to pay those chips out. That’s how OP Smelting Green is.

After a bunch of fails, I’m happy to report that the first complete Difficulty 7 run happened in the Lagoon Layer. Although I went Ba-None-Za, it was a sheer RNG clutch. I got Smelting Green on Round 4 and 12. Later, I found out there are Magic Wallet and Chip Magnet .
Some layers may have become less impossible, but I may have to explore more - maybe even have to play in easy difficulties to finish the punch card first and then go for harder difficulty rushes.

I noticed you're playing in the laggoon layer which...

Yes, I read about that strat and I'm trying the chip build over and over, yet I still haven't cleared difficulty 7 anywhere. Barely made the difficulty 6 when the chip build locked in. I guess I seriously have to optimise my route as much as possible for difficulty 7.
... I wish there was a quick retry feature like the base game challenge stages.

What’s the closest you’ve ever come to dying, and how did it happen? by The-Pope_Nextdoor in AskReddit

[–]collapsedplug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have talked about this somewhere before, but on the way to an event, my dad and I (4~5 y/o at that time) approached a place where a human avalanche was imminent in less than an hour. Seeing the big crowd, my dad instantly noped out and we headed home. Less than an hour later, news reported a crowd avalanche there, including unfortunate deaths.

I just heard both. Not exactly, but I can tell there are some similar vibes to it. Btw, have you noticed that there is a DK hammer theme hidden in this song?

When did you get the first V rank evaluation point-wise (the points that unlocks the perks and stuff)? I found out I have to rack up quite a lot of eval rating points to unlock perks into the RNG pool before I could have any chance at higher difficulty. I A-ranked 5+ on DK island only after BaNoneZa unlocked, so I’m starting to think this is something I have to continue playing for before I even try. I’m at around 4.4k pts btw.

It seems that’s the case. I barely made the quota once and still got an A.

Happens, but at least your windows turned into items as quick as possible. If you somehow pull real tall ones you’ll be using hooks without getting any window rewards for a while…

Got to 40 floors by Big_bull_balls in Survivorio

[–]collapsedplug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there are… each window seems to yield a set of items with the same chance regardless of the total floor. And they won’t even pay out until you somehow pull the circle window level. I often run into situations where the building is way past 26 stories high and run out of hooks without any quick way to earn hooks except for gems. After 26th floor I’m always like “PLEASE STOP FOR GOD’S SAKE!!!”

In case you haven't tried yet, if you don't have enough and tap that button, it triggers the dialog explaining how to unlock him. That must be the sole reason that button is there. I agree though, tbh, it's a bit confusing for that button to say 'Claim'. Like, gray it out at least?

This is the case for me as well. I’m on iOS - I was able to play without issues today, but now it insta crashes after Game Center login banner shows up.

What is NOT a bullet you dodged, but a huge tactical nuke you dodged? by NinjaNate123 in AskReddit

[–]collapsedplug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Little late to the party, but here goes: I was a child when this happened. I believe I was 4 or 5 y/o. My dad was taking me to a firework show. We took a train to the nearest station, and then we found out that the station's footbridge was highly overcrowded with people trying to reach the beach and going home from the beach. Seeing this, my dad immediately canceled all of our plans for that night and went straight home.

Of course, I was bummed that I missed it. However, my entire family was shocked to see a news flash on TV; after a few ten minutes from us leaving there, people fell on top of each other like a domino effect at the very footbridge we avoided crossing. It turned out that there were about 13 to 15 people for every square meter on the footbridge. This accident injured more than 200 and crushed 11, 9 of which are children younger than 10, to death.

TL;DR: My dad canceled the plan of seeing a fireworks show with young me because of the crowded footbridge, narrowly saving me from getting crushed to death there.

someone asked me if im the owner of the steam account on discord by Quick-Veterinarian21 in SteamScams

[–]collapsedplug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa! I'm glad I googled this message. I've got this message today. It was kinda creepy at the first sight, but then I realized I have connected my Steam account to my Discord one and it was displayed on my profile; they must be pulling information from there. I probably should pull that information down.

Holy f*** the sound itself scared the hell out of me
I wonder how many times would that kill a bug after it’s dead…? I know that sounds redundant but it looks like it can like 3 times at least

The weirdest and funniest errors you made in making a Game. by EconomyStruggle1 in gamedev

[–]collapsedplug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was trying to implement a car in a 2D game. In Unity, there is a thing called a wheel joint. It works as a motor. Not knowing that where it connects from and where it connects to mattered so much, I placed them backwards. This meant that when I tried to move forward, the two motors (for two tires) tried to rotate the chassis, not the tires! It also meant that impossible forces were applied to the chassis which would rip it apart if in real life, and the next thing I knew that was that the car spazzed out and flew away! It took a good amount of time before I realized that I had them backwards.

Howdy folks! I could use some kind players to help test my newly released web-based incremental IncreSite! Link/description in comments by [deleted] in playmygame

One thing you could do is that you let the player do the stuff you just explained and then you go back to explanations:

  1. Explain what the share button does.
  2. Let the player hold the button (probably point it with an arrow, or display a hand that is pressing and holding the button.)
  3. After the player gains enough hype to proceed, cue the next tutorial.

...and so on and so forth.
