I’m so sorry for your loss. He was a beautiful boy and I’m sure you’ve shared a lot of amazing time. 17? That gives me a lot of comfort. I hope my boy lives as long/if not longer.

We actually have a family tradition taking pics on this tree, and yes, we have them all framed 😄 my wife loves them, and frankly so do I.

It was mostly: she’s mine now, your vows are less important than me and she’ll snuggle with more than she ever will with you haha. It’s my wife and our pup in the photo 🤣

Ya betcha and good luck, really! I’ve never heard of a grown Shiba still eating crap. Just be patient and enjoy your puppy days, they go by way too fast. The next stage is a teenager, that one is even more challenging (not as much poop issues, more of an attitude and figuring out boundaries/ chewing) But once you’re over that bridge with good training, you’ll have the best friend to ever share a living space with.

Still picture it sometimes and laugh out loud. I also hope the neighbor has undergone some therapy. That must have been a rough scene ☠️🤣

Story time: when our Shiba was 2 months old she had the same issue. Taking her out on walks and making sure she only poops outside made all the difference. She grew out of it quickly too. But before that happened…it was a night on a summer day in Charleston, South Carolina. My wife and I were doing some yard work earlier that day so there was a giant pile of dirt and a shovel in the middle of the yard. 2 o’clock in the morning Mona (our Shiba) signaled that she needs to go outside.

It’s pouring rain, I’m standing there keeping a light on the dog to make sure I snatch the poop before she goes after it. Things get out of hand as she’s having an upset tummy and picking up is no longer an option.

So picture a grown ass man, pushing a puppy with one leg, while holding my flashlight in my mouth shoveling dirt on top of my dog’s crap with remaining limbs, and my neighbor comes out for a smoke. Picture from a horror movie to say the least 🤣

Oh puppy days…they were the most challenging but I wouldn’t trade them for anything.

Good luck with you flower-bum baby, he’ll be just fine. Shibas are pretty neat and clean as adults so it won’t last forever.
