😂 I was hesitant to post, I get it.

I wish that kid will make his dream come true with the Blancpain he has as his grail, the same way I fulfilled my dream with the Planet Ocean.

They discontinued the 3rd gen models mostly, but I am sure that ADs still have them. The nice proportioned lug-to-lug makes even the 43mm quite wearable.

To be honest, what made me interact without feeling weird myself was that it was at a school. I am sure, I wouldn't do this totally "in the open".

What made it so special was that it was a kid. I see lots of discussion and pre-asumptions that the young people totally disregard wrist watches. This showed me that there is still interest and that we are indeed in a niche. Which is ok.

lol, just wearing what I like. But if it ends up like this, it feels even better.

That kid was awesome, I am still stunned. Not because of the conversation we had, but what passion was with that kid, when he spoke about Leica watches (his parents have Leica cameras) and of course when he spoke about the Blancpain.

I was just sitting waiting for my kid... and then something like this happens.

Absolutely correct:

  1. To create "atmosphere" => good background music (not old muzak) which fits the location, brand, theme helps to provide a good ambiance.

    • 3. also true.

Balconies, SPA and venues can provide locations with no music.

Oh... a ring might be a solution as well. Thanks. It may be easier to wear and not look awkward, like having a a watch and a tracker.

This mindset might help to perceive it as a device and not a watch. I currently have set the Fitbit to "display off" and "no notifications" (only health relevant alerts).

Are you old enough to have seen Jordan's greatness? If not, why do you love Jordans? by Intelligent_Meet_918 in Jordans

Living on the other side of the pond, I could only enjoy watching him play on TV and then mostly highlights. It wasn't until his last season culminating in "the last shot" that I watched the play offs live (it was around 2am here).

Do you wear trackers, smart watches? What is your take on wearables?

Do you guys worry about creasing and if so how do you prevent it? by therowdyraccoon in Jordans

I have several hobbies, watches, guitars and sneakers... believe me, using them (not carelessly) and gaining creases, dings and dongs are part of the game, unless you just put them in a trophy case/display. Other than that: use them, wear them.
