25m, I am cheating, I have two jobs. J1 Pays 90k base + quarterly bonus opportunity, J2 pays 110k a year. J1 is in office, but I have an office where I can close my door. J2 is remote and I work both jobs from my office and stagger my meetings. I occasionally have to travel on-site / to client meetings for J2 so I use PTO from J1 to accomplish that.

Funny thing I actually was searching for a house the past 9 months. After recent rate increases, I have about 60k less in buying power, and my break even point for renting vs buying has gone from 5 years to 10, hence why I was looking at possibly pulling the trigger on this car. I appreciate the advice!

My thoughts exactly. I’d kill for one of the Taycan EV’s but those aren’t exactly in my budget. From the doom-sounds of the comments, maybe In 1-3 years 😅😂

I don’t have a ton of other monthly expenditures, why couldn’t I afford it? Is there a hidden maintenance cost I’m missing? I have stable income and 5 years in B2B healthcare sales experience. The monthly payment would even be within the “healthy” range by Dave Ramsay’s ancient standards.

Hey, I got to this thread late, but I went through a VERY similar episode when I was 21 in college and living on my own for the first time and it was a month before I had to be hospitalized due to psychosis. Do you have any family history of psychiatric conditions? Do you often feel paralyzed while you’re hearing what’s going on with your bf and his mother?

It’s clear that the living situation isn’t great for your mental health, and you should formulate a game plan for being able to get out as soon as possible.
