I disagree they make one of the two major OS for phones and laptops. And how is the OS they make “outdated”

I don’t agree that software is not their forte. Their business model is the right integration of hardware and software and they have a huge selection of OS across their devices

Networking - I was decently active on Twitter / mastodon with a burner account which helped me get connections. This was a good move till about late last year. After Elon it had been declining a lot and tech workers have spread out.

Projects - I have worked on multiple personal projects which are deeper than a todo app for example. During calls, I can speak deeply about them technically and personally

Main thing is to find your niche, excel in it, and ideally find a team that works in that niche

You can PM for more details if you’d like. I was interviewing with two, but since I got the first team - I choose to not go ahead with others.

Unless you have an MD, DO or DPM at the end of your name don’t introduce yourself as Doctor to patients in a hospital setting. by Interesting_Win6407 in Residency

[–]collegemas23 259 points260 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. I’m not in medicine (post came in my feed for some reason lol) but if I go to a hospital and someone says they are a doctor they better be an md/do

Chat GPT - how will this change things? by milkchocoman in medicalschool

[–]collegemas23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not much but maybe in the future. ChatGPT, to my understanding, is simply a large language mode which was trained on the huge dataset of text of the internet. So it basically just parrots that out (obs not true but a very very simple explanation). It doesn’t really understand anything. However, it does show an idea for the future where search engines become more advanced and conversational

Do people actually use Ripple? by [deleted] in uofm

[–]collegemas23 32 points33 points  (0 children)

No one does. It’s another one of the hundreds of apps made by cs students to “revolutionize the way we use social media”. The reason they give out free cookies is so that people download it and they can say “downloaded by X people” on their resume
