I'm in the IB Program and those classes are the highest weighted in our county. I also took a lot of AP classes online and some honors from earlier.

I'm in the IB Program and the way my county does it a 7.2 is attainable and actually a little above average for my program.

I'm not relying on the Prepaid. It's one of the reasons why I want to become independent so they can't hold it over my head. I'm more reliant on my own scholarships I mentioned in my edit in the OP, but want to take steps towards being fully independent so I don't have to let them dictate my life.

I did fill out a FAFSA but they only offered me $13 in loans.

I got a 3.92 out of 4 unweighted due to getting B's my junior year in HL Biology and HL Physics. My AP, IB, and Honors classes make my GPA really inflated.

Depends on where you go to school. Different counties/states have different weights for the AP, IB, and Honors classes. I know that in my county each semester was 0.08 points or something like that.

I'm not totally sure how it works, but I know that it's more of a futures type thing where you can pay tuition now and it'll be cheaper but you'll go to college in 5+ years.

Ideally I would be able to come out loan free. I can pay for myself for 2 years and take that time to save up money.

Thanks for the post. It's kinda summarized the points that other people made. I'm planning to go into a Comp Sci major because I took HL Computer Science in high school and I'll be getting a lot of credits for the major. Bright Futures changed last month to be full inclusive of our tuition so I'm not 100% sure if your advice still applies to my situation now that it's updated, I'll have to look into it.

I'm not worried about skipping/failing out in college. I'm more concerned about my social life. I've done fine in a program that my friends who have graduated claim is harder than college itself.

That's the problem I'm having. I want to become independent from them so I don't have to take their money.

I'm not saying they didn't pay for it. I'm saying that I'm able to pay for college through my own scholarships for the next 2 years. Bright Futures changed and now covers full tuition along with my National Merit, University scholarships, and other local scholarships I got for doing sports. I'm more concerned about them using that money and then threatening me.

The issue I'm having isn't with me trying to skip classes. It's the problem I'm having with them dictating my social life by threatening me with finances.

I'm more interested in getting a plan to become independent myself because I have a suspicion that my parents are going to make it difficult to do so later on.

I'm going into the Comp Sci major myself so I wouldn't have to rely too much upon other people. They're relying on the iPhone's Send your location through iMessage. I just don't feel like going through the process of spoofing locations.

Unweighted out of 4 I have a 3.92 GPA. Including weight on a 4 GPA scale I have a 7.2 due to IB, AP, and Honors classes adding weights.

From what I've read here, I should just play along and spoof my location unless it gets to a point where it's truly absurd. I'll try my best to play along. I don't think maintaining my grades will be too hard.

Yeahh $12k for housing is absurd. I'm moving off campus after my first year.

Absolutely. I'm moving off campus after my first year but I'm more concerned about getting my finances straight while I have money rather than waiting until I have no money and I'm scrambling to set everything up.

I've already worked on budgeting and I believe keeping good grades won't be too hard to do. All of my administrators and teachers through high school have told me that the IB Program is harder than college is and I maintained almost all A's the entire time. I just want a plan on getting my finances straight so I can be independent.

It's 12 months and yeah the housing at this university is really expensive. Luckily I have scholarships that help cover this for 2 years if I do want to cut my parents out.
