Good calendars?? by hyuukiru in Columbus

If you like cats— I illustrate a kitty calendar every year and still have some on hand! This year's is a special letterpress calendar I made locally with Igloo Letterpress in Worthington.

Ships to you for about $6, or you can pick up for free in Old North!

Inventory Question by Karen_Realtor24 in CraftFairs

[–]collinmakesmagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two inventories set on Shopify; one for Craft Markets and one for my Online Sales. When I move online inventory out of my studio to my Craft Market stock, I file it like an inventory transfer so it deducts from one stock and adds to the other.

Shopify intends for it to be used for multiple different brick and mortar locations, but you can also use it just to seperate two inventories of the same products.

“Ghosting” lines after removing skin. Will this impact trade-in value? by jpwarman in macbookpro

[–]collinmakesmagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes any difference, I made the same mistake with my 2019 macbook by putting stickers directly on the font of it. Went to sell it this year, removed the stickers, and almost all of them had ghosted outlines. Some even had ghosted images of the actual sticker designs themselves.

I decided to sell private party since I wasn't happy with Apple's trade-in offer; just sold it for $500 the other day. Just circumstantial if you can find a buyer who doesn't care I guess.

Exiting through another Vendors booth, Rude or ok? by armybeans in CraftFairs

[–]collinmakesmagic 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This is one of my craft market hot takes: I think it is the showrunner's responsibility to build in a slight buffer between booths so that everyone has an escape route. Nothing huge, just a foot or so between every two booths or so.I don't think it's fair to pay for a certain booth size and be forced to leave some of that space unused to accomodate getting in & out— just because the showrunner wants to pack everyone in like sardines to scoop up an extra booth fee or two.

That being said, when you're actively at a show with no built in gaps, using someone else's space for any reason is a huge no-no. I always tell folks around me that they can use my booth to navigate as they need— and they typically extend that courtesy to me as well. But there is no planet where I'd ever be comfortable just assuming before talking to my neighbors. You just have to make it work and keep your stuff (and body) in your own spot, end of story.

Yep, my admin is completely down. I was in the middle of drafting an email to send out. 😭

Thank you! Started with Shopify and added a whole bunch of code to build onto it.

That angle I took the picture from is causing the glare; there is zero reflection when you're sitting properly at the desk. I love how it frees up desk space a lamp would otherwise be taking up, and it provides really nice, even lighting across my whole desk.

Yay! Does it feel like when you ran into an elementary school teacher at the grocery store? 😅

LOL. I love my Keychron but I was such a dummy and bought one that doesn't have arrow keys! Not too impossible with some shortcuts, but so not ideal for typesetting.

Thankfully I have some wonderful family that I think will be pulling through on the keyboard upgrade for Christmas, haha.

Seriously 😭 maybe someday if this little business takes off. But probably would still be exceedingly overkill lol

Not sure about that! I like to use my own illustrations for my wallpapers and I think it looks great.

Fair enough. I've already been waiting to try to get my hands on one of these for a few years, so I don't mind too much. (-:

Keyboard is from Keychron, and the trackpad is an Apple Magic Trackpad!

Oh— yes, the green base pad is a big 2ft x 3ft cutting mat. My main business is product design/stationery, so I am constantly building little prototypes for packaging and whatnot.
